Meeting Minutes
June 6, 2000
PRESENT:
Dorff, Ditty, Kuefler, Nelson, Roen, Zastrow and LaCrosse.
Meeting was called to order at 7:35 a.m. by Henry Dorff.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Kuefler, seconded by Ditty to approve the
minutes of May 16, 2000. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT
: Zastrow reported $7,503.32 in checking, $8,531.19 in one CD and $2,184.13
in another CD. Total is $18,218.64. Zastrow said their is an outstanding check for $750.00 for parade last
year. Ditty will check to see who has not cashed it. LaCrosse suggested writing the name of the school on a
sheet of paper with check number. This way Zastrow would know exactly who did not cash check.
Arts & Crafts Fair:
Kuefler reported that there are 25 applications in and this is three ahead of last year at
this time. They will try the Cub Foods area to put a sign. Dorff will decide on hours for free face painting.
About 2/3 of the crafters are staying until after the fireworks. The Year 2000 committee will supply their
own volunteers to sell merchandise.
Family Fun & Games:
Dorff said he is off to a good start. He has been out to the community
businesses and has $391.00 in prizes. The Rotary donates $400. Cohen will get volunteers at the next
Rotary meeting.
Ice Cream Social:
No report.
Kids Fishing Contest:
LaCrosse said the prizes have been purchased.
Music/Fireworks:
No report.
Parade:
Ditty said there are nine bands. Waconia came in at the last minute which really worked out
well. Cohen will commentate the parade for community television. A staff person from Northwest
Community Television will assist.
Publicity:
LaCrosse played the Media One television commercial which will begin airing next week. The
commercial was done very well. She said the Sun Post Tabloid will be delivered to homes beginning
Wednesday of next week. It also looks great. Hopefully Sue will have some extra flyer inserts at the next
meeting. These are going in the Crystal newspapers.
Tennis Event:
No report. Dorff said he knows they have everything under control.
Year 2000:
Cohen want to have a unit in the parade. Kuefler will check for a vehicle.
Yo-Yoing:
Kuefler said the event will last about 1 hours. He, Jarret and Sue met and have everything
worked out. Jarret would also like to be in the parade. Kuefler needs a vehicle for him.

Payment of bills:
City of Brooklyn Center $42.24 Postage
Kentco Signs $246.65 Change dates on banners
There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Ditty to approve payment of bill. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
The dates for the 2001 festival are June 21 - 23, 2001, providing we want to keep the
festival to a Thursday through Saturday event.
NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday, June 20, 7:30 a.m. in Conference Room A.
