HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000 06-13 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes June 13, 2000 PRESENT: Dorff, Ditty, Kuefler, Roen, Holcomb, Zastrow and LaCrosse. Meeting was called to order at 7:35 a.m. by Henry Dorff. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Ditty, seconded by Kuefler to approve the minutes of June 6, 2000. Motion carried. FINANCIAL REPORT : Zastrow reported $7,214.43 in checking, $8,531.19 in one CD and $2,184.13 in another CD. Total is $17,929.75. Payment of bills: Orthland Affiliates $477.00 Parade judges association Shriners $350.00 Paid parade unit St. Paul Clown Club $300.00 Paid parade unit Powder Puff Clown Club $300.00 Paid parade unit Band Prize Money $4,000.00 Prize money A.J. Gallagher $1,055.75 Insurance Barbara Allen $10.00 Overpaid on craft show There was a motion by Kuefler, seconded by Ditty to approve payment of bill. Motion carried. Arts & Crafts Fair: Holcomb said there are 28 booths. This is down about seven from last year. There is a new mini donut vendor. She has two spaces left for those staying late. Kuefler will put out the signs. Holcomb said there are puddles to work around this year. Kuefler said he has put out some posters to the businesses and has commitments from other businesses to do the flyers. LaCrosse said the door prize drawing will be done differently this year. There will be an hourly door prize in which the person must be present. These prizes can only be redeemed at a vendor. All slips will be entered into a final drawing at the end of the day for gift certificates. They need not be present to win. Kuefler said we added a spot on the slips for people to check where they heard about the arts & crafts fair. Dorff asked Holcomb to indicate her requests for door prize gift certificates. He said he has a value of  $858.00 so far in prizes and gift certificates. He asked that everyone bring their results to next weeks meeting so he can finalize all of the prizes. There was a motion by Ditty, seconded by Kuefler to approve $100 in cash - ten, ten dollar bills to be used to reimburse a crafter or food vendor for door prize drawings. Motion carried. Family Fun & Games: Dorff said he will call Cohen to see if he has anyone from Rotary that signed up to help. Ice Cream Social: No report. 1  Kids Fishing Contest: No report. Music/Fireworks: LaCrosse said she received on negative call regarding the fireworks being moved to Saturday night. Parade: Ditty said everything is falling together. He needs vendor cards with his signature. He needs more barricades this year. Publicity: LaCrosse distributed copies of the flyers that will go into the Crystal Sun Post newspapers. She also handed out flyers for the Earle Brown Heritage Center Open House. Tennis Event: Dorff said they have 15 workers. Year 2000: Kuefler said he is in charge of the time capsule opening agenda. The capsule will be open at 3 p.m.  Yo-Yoing: Kuefler said he has four workers. NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, June 20, 7:30 a.m. in Conference Room A.
