Meeting Minutes
January 16, 2001
PRESENT:
Roen, Cohen, Boyer, Johnston, Youngberg, and LaCrosse.
Phil Cohen called meeting to order at 7:37 a.m.
FINANCIAL REPORT
: There is $1,861.85 in checking. There is $2,280.56 in one CD, which comes
due on April 6, 2001. The other CD has a balance of $8,892.05 and will come due March 22, 2001.
Tennis Event:
Boyer and Johnston said they would like to schedule the event at a different
time so that it would not be in conflict with other events. They would like to see more advertising. LaCrosse
told them she would need a flyer by the third week in June in order to have it included as a flyer to the school.
She said if they want to take pre-registrations, the community center could be a drop off point. They would
like to see more family participation and plan to have more prizes. They will furnish all supplies. They told
the committee they have seniors working with the program. It was decided that the fishing contest would be
held from 10 a.m. – Noon, the tennis event from Noon – 2 p.m. and the Family Fun & Games from 2-4 p.m.
Arts & Crafts Fair:
Cohen said he would have to call Toni. LaCrosse said she needs a name and address
of where the exhibitors can send their applications.
Family Fun & Games:
Youngberg would like to call Henry Dorff so she can get started on getting
some door prizes.
Ice Cream Social:
Cohen will call Sharon.
Kids Fishing Contest:
LaCrosse said she anticipates BrookPark Dental will sponsor the event again.
Music/Fireworks:
LaCrosse said the Rockin’ Hollywoods are booked.
Parade:
LaCrosse reported Tom Shinnick said the Lions Club has approved $5,000 for the parade.
Publicity:
No report.
Teen Event:
LaCrosse said the Family Services Collaborative has approved the Teen Street Dance proposal
and it will be held Friday, June 22 from 6-10 p.m. between Grandview Park and Earle Brown School. Cohen
suggested alerting the high rise. LaCrosse said the event would be run primarily by teens. It will cost
approximately $3,800, which will include a sound and light show, portable restrooms, barricades, police
officers, door prizes, a tent, and two paid employees.
Youth Golf Tournament:
LaCrosse said Arnie would be running one on Friday, June 22. Youngberg said
she would like Remax to consider sponsoring the event.

Year 2000:
Cohen said everything is wrapping up with the 90 Birthday Party.

NEW BUSINESS:
LaCrosse said Firstar Bank sent us a check, made payable to Earle Brown Days, which
belongs to the chamber. There was a motion by Youngberg, seconded by Roen to authorize the president to
endorse the check over to the chamber. Motion carried.
PAYMENT OF BILLS:
Midwest Art Fair $270.00 Ad for arts & crafts fair
City of Brooklyn Center 10.56 Postage - November & December
There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Roen to pay these bills. Motion carried.
