HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005 02-15 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes February 15, 2005 PRESENT: Karen Youngberg, Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Shelley Klaessy and Sue LaCrosse. Karen Youngberg called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion made by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Shelley Klaessy to approve the minutes of the January 18, 2005 meeting. Motion carried. Financial Report: Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $2,085.36. The CD balance is $14,582.44. Total amount is $16,667.8. Arts & Crafts Fair: No report. Budget/Finance: Phil Cohen and Karen Youngberg will make changes and get letters out in March. Family Fun & Games: Karen Youngberg said the time for the Family Fun & Games will stay the same as last year. She will try to get the helicopter for Noon to 2:00 p.m. Phil Cohen suggested a Hmong Dance group as another event. Cathy Ballot said Peacemaker is interested in doing Bingo. Sue LaCrosse said Jim Glasoe is still checking on that, but it looks promising. Ice Cream Social: Shelley Klaessy suggested a Barbershop group, face painting and maybe a clown with balloons. She is looking at 6-8:00 p.m. Kid’s Fishing Contest: No report. Music/Fireworks: Sue LaCrosse said she booked the Castaways. We have received the money for the fireworks from the Fire Relief Association. Parade: No report. Publicity: Shelley Klaessy said we can put flyers in guest services and put up signs. Sue LaCrosse will talk to Jim Glasoe about getting better publicity for Cable 12. Sue LaCrosse will check with Happy Faces for prices on balloons, face painting, and characters. Phil Cohen said we should highlight the shoe kick more with something like, “Home of the famous Earle Brown Days Shoe Kick.” Golf Tournaments: No report. NEXT MEETING:Council/Commision Conference Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. in the Room, lower level at CITY HALL.
