Meeting Minutes
June 13, 2006
PRESENT:
Cathy Ballot, Nancy Doucette, Shelley Klaessy, Karen Youngberg,
Toni Johns, Councilmember Kathleen Carmody, Phil Cohen, Ritchie Miller, Mike
Meyer, John Will (Domino’s Pizza) and Sue LaCrosse.
Sue LaCrosse called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Toni Johns, seconded by Nancy Doucette to
approve the minutes of the June 6, 2006 meeting. Motion carried.
John Will from Domino’s Pizza said his company has a strong commitment to the community. They want to
get involved with parades and festivals. He would be willing to give out prizes for games and gift certificates
for door prizes. They may want to be in the parade. Ritchie Miller or Karen Youngberg will contact him
about getting gift certificates. Sue LaCrosse suggested they think about sponsoring the dolphin mascot’s
birthday party next year.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Cathy Ballot reported $22,692.78 in checking with two outstanding
checks of $3,500 for Radio Disney and $285 for Kentco Signs. The balance in the checkbook is $18,907.78.
There was a motion by Councilmember Kathleen Carmody, seconded by Toni Johns to approve the
treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
BUDGET/FINANCE:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget worksheet.
ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR:
Toni Johns reported many of the crafters are leaving at 6:00 p.m. The
mini-donut vendor has not called back. Mike Meyer had the name of another mini-donut vendor.
Bridgeman’s will set up on Friday. Larry Peterson will take over for Toni the morning of the craft fair. Pat
Milton may be able to mark off the spots and will do the map. Everyone got their letters. Karen Youngberg
said the BCBA does not seem to be interested in having a table. She said Keith Lester asked if the school
could have a table. The committee approved this request.
BINGO
: It is on.
FAMILY FUN & GAMES:
Councilmember Kathleen Carmody and Karen Youngberg will get
together to figure out the prize distribution. Henry Dorff is out getting prizes and gift certificates.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL:
No report.
KID’S FISHING CONTEST:
The police chief will be the fish official this year.
MUSIC/FIREWORKS:
No report.
PARADE:
Nancy Doucette reported they are pushing 80 units. She received two new units. Mike
Meyer brought the trophy for the BC Drum Corp. It is very nice. Nancy Doucette said a Boy Scout unit
requested having squirt guns at the parade. The Lions Club will allow it this year and monitor it for concerns
or problems.
PHOTOGRAPHER:
No report.
PUBLICITY:
Sue LaCrosse said she did not get to proof the tabloid this year. Karen Youngberg
will talk to Marilyn of Prime Advertising to find out if there was any expense to Tater Daze or Brooklyn Park
for the nice publication they did. If not, it might be something we consider since our Sun Post tabloid has
been poor the last two years. Karen Youngberg needs a poster size of the pancake breakfast. Sue LaCrosse
said information has been sent to churches, businesses, television, radio stations, and newspapers. The Radio
Disney ads will start Monday.
TRIVIA CONTEST:
Councilmember Kathleen Carmody and Shelley Klaessy will meet.
OTHER EVENTS:
Sue LaCrosse said the youth golf tournament has been canceled. No one has signed up
for it. Karen Youngberg announced the pancake breakfast. She will take more flyers over to Applebees.

There was a motion by Councilmember Kathleen Carmody, seconded by Cathy Ballot to approve payment.
Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:

Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. in the
Room, lower level at CITY HALL.
ADJOURN:
There was a motion by Councilmember Kathleen Carmody, seconded by Cathy Ballot to
adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
