HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007 02-20 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes February 20, 2007 PRESENT: Mike Meyer, Shelley Klaessy, Phil Cohen, Karen Youngberg, Nancy Doucette, and Sue LaCrosse. Karen Youngberg called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Nancy Doucette, seconded by Mike Meyer to approve the minutes of the January 16, 2007 meeting. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT : The balance in checking is $2,303.13 and $14,357.12 in the CD for a total of $16,357.12. There was a motion by Councilmember Nancy Doucette, seconded by Mike Meyer to accept the treasurer’s report. Motion carried. CRAFT & BUSINESS EXPO: Both the NH professional women’s business association and the Centaur Foundation will be the nonprofit groups this year. Letters and application forms went out. BINGO : No report. BUDGET/FINANCE: Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget spreadsheet. A preliminary budget will be prepared for the next meeting. The budget/finance subcommittee will meet Monday, February 26, 5:30 p.m. at the community center to finalize the business letters and form. FAMILY FUN & GAMES: No report. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Shelley Klaessy said they will serve Bridgeman’s ice cream again. Details regarding the entertainment have yet to be finalized. KID’S FISHING CONTEST: Phil Cohen will contact the police chief regarding their participation. MUSIC/FIREWORKS: Sue LaCrosse said has booked the fireworks with a preliminary amount of $5,000. PARADE: Mike Meyer said there will not be one grand marshal. The theme will be the changing face of Brooklyn Center with a focus on diversity. There will be a $20 charge for commercial and political units. The parade invitations will go out soon. PHOTOGRAPHER: No report. PUBLICITY: Sue LaCrosse said we are close to finalizing the schedule of events for City Watch. There will still be some time to make moderate changes at the next meeting. The Sun Post is working on our tabloid cover. RADIO DISNEY: No report. 1 SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT: No report. TRIVIA CONTEST: No report. OTHER EVENTS: Sue LaCrosse said she booked the Wizards Academy magic show. We will have the performance at 4:30 p.m. allowing enough time for the Family Fun & Games to be over. NEW BUSINESS: Sue LaCrosse reminded everyone about the Business Expo at Brookdale. NEXT MEETING: Council/Commission Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. in the Conference Room, lower level at CITY HALL.
