Meeting Minutes
November 20, 2007
PRESENT:
Mike Meyer, Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Karen Youngberg,
Councilmember Mary O’Connor, and Sue LaCrosse.
Karen Youngberg called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Kathleen Carmody to
approve the minutes of the September 18, 2007 meeting. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
: Cathy Ballot reported $3,191.01 in checking with two outstanding checks,
$200 for the drumline and $150 for Leo’s club, making the checking balance $2,841.01. With CD, we have a
total of $15,197.72. There was a motion by Kathleen Carmody, seconded by Mike Meyer to approve the
Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried.
BUDGET/FINANCE:
Kathleen Carmody would like to serve on the Budget/Finance
Committee replacing Nancy Doucette.
CRAFTS & BUSINESS EXPO:
Karen Youngberg said the brochures have been approved.
FAMILY FUN & GAMES:
The Rotary Club has dedicated the money but no one is in charge of it.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL:
It is doubtful Brookdale will be able to do this. They can’t commit now
and wouldn’t know until spring. That would be too late for us. Karen Youngberg will talk to the general
manager.
KID’S FISHING CONTEST:
Sue LaCrosse said this event will continue.
MUSIC/FIREWORKS:
Fireworks have been scheduled and Midnight Breeze is confirmed.
PARADE:
Mike Meyer said there will be no problems with Dupont.
PUBLICITY:
Sue LaCrosse said she would like to see more done with publicity. Phil Cohen will
talk to Dave Looby at Visit Minneapolis North to see if there would be more money available.
SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT:
The tournament will be held.
TRIVIA CONTEST:
Kathleen Carmody said she would consider having this event at the
community center if the ice cream social at Brookdale falls through.
OTHER EVENTS:
Dunkin The Dolphin Birthday Party will be held again on Friday and the
Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is scheduled on Saturday, June 21 at Applebees. The committee talked
about several other ideas including having the ice cream social in Central Park on Saturday, kid’s
entertainment, craft area for kids, the bookmobile, magic show, puppet show, kids’ music, Dunkin
appearances, characters, and face painting.

NEW BUSINESS:
The budget/finance sub committee will meet Monday, December 3 at
5:00 p.m. in Room 221 at the community center.
EXT MEETING: Council/Commission
N Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. in the
Conference Room, lower level at CITY HALL.
ADJOURN:
There was a motion by Kathleen Carmody, seconded by Mike Meyer to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 a.m.
