HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008 01-15 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes January 15, 2008 PRESENT: Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Councilmember Mary O’Connor, and Sue LaCrosse. Cathy Ballot called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Phil Cohen to approve the minutes of the November 20, 2007 meeting. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT : Cathy Ballot reported $3,191.59 in checking and $15,308.74 in the CD. A check from the Lions Club for $3,000 was presented at the meeting. There was a motion by Councilmember Mary O’Connor seconded by Cathy Ballot to accept the treasurer’s report. Motion carried. BINGO: Cathy Ballot will check with Brooklyn Center High School to see if they have a group interested. BUDGET/FINANCE: No report. CRAFT & BUSINESS EXPO: Sue LaCrosse said the exhibitor information is going out this week. DUNKIN BIRTHDAY PARTY : Sue LaCrosse said it will be held again. FAMILY FUN & GAMES: No report ICE CREAM SOCIAL: This event is questionable. KID’S FISHING CONTEST: This event will be held again. MAGIC SHOW : The magic show is booked for the same time as last year. MUSIC/FIREWORKS: The fireworks are scheduled and Midnight Breeze is set to play. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The pancake breakfast will be held the Saturday before Earle Brown Days at Applebees. PARADE: No report. PUBLICITY: Sue LaCrosse said she was contacted by Radio Disney and they would be willing to put together a special package with the High School Musical and High School Musical2 theme. She said this is extremely popular. We would want some assurance that this event would not be duplicated in neighboring communities. The committee gave tentative approval to this event. SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT: No report. 1 TRIVIA CONTEST: No report. OTHER EVENTS: Phil Cohen will follow up with the Honoring Veterans Idea. NEW BUSINESS: There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Councilmember Mary O’Connor to nominate Kathleen Carmody for the Special Events Special Recognition Award. Motion carried. There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Phil Cohen to renew our membership for $100 with the BCBA. Motion carried. EXT MEETING: Council/Commission N Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. in the Conference Room, lower level at CITY HALL. ADJOURN: There was a motion by Councilmember Mary O’Connor, seconded by Cathy Ballot to adjourn the meeting.
