Earle Brown Days
Meeting Minutes
June 16, 2009
PRESENT:
Mike Meyer, Joy Reinhart, Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Karen Youngberg, Kathleen Carmody,
Ben Trapskin and Sue LaCrosse.
Kathleen Carmody called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Mike Meyer, seconded by Karen Youngberg to
approve the minutes of the June 9, 2009 meeting. Motion carried.
BUDGET/FINANCE:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget sheet. She said it appears we will need to
take about $1,955.00 from reserves.
CHARACTERS:
No report.
CIRCUS MANDUHAI:
No report.
CRAFT & BUSINESS EXPO:
Joy Reinhart said we had one exhibitor cancel. She said we could
possibly get two more exhibitors. Sue LaCrosse said she told someone that if she wanted to show up that
day, she would have to take her chances on space availability and would need to pay with cash.
DUNKIN BIRTHDAY PARTY:
Sue LaCrosse said Papa Murphy’s will serve samples of pizza for sure.
Mike Meyer has arranged for us to get free hotdogs, water, mustard and catsup from Cub and a good deal on
McDonald’s drink. They also include the cups with the drink.
FACE PAINTING:
No report.
FAMILY FUN & GAMES:
Phil Cohen said Myrna Kragness will work and the list for workers is
filling up.
HONOR OUR VETERANS:
Mike Meyer has the flags done. Phil Cohen met with the VFW. He
played the marching music played at the birthday party for them. They would like it played at the Honor Our
Veterans program. The first set of tunes will be played at 8 p.m. with the ceremony starting at 8:10. Phil
Cohen will contact Pastor Hobbs for the invocation and ask him to direct the recognition of family members
of those currently serving. He said Post 630 will hand out 200 small flags. Karen Youngberg has distributed
some Honor Our Veterans flyers to Knaeble Post, Prairie Lodge and Bremer Bank.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL:
No report.
KID’S FISHING CONTEST:
No report.
MAGIC SHOW
: No report.
MUSIC/FIREWORKS:
Sue LaCrosse said we received the check from Medtronic Foundation for
fireworks.

PARADE:
Mike Meyer said he has seven banner carriers. Karen Youngberg suggested contacting
the BCYC and Sue LaCrosse suggested the Leo Club to get more banner carriers.
PUBLICITY:
Mike Meyer spent two hours on the phone with Gopher State One. He will start
putting up the big signs on Wednesday. Karen Youngberg said Diane Sannes would like one of the signs for
a friend of hers who has a cooking show on Channel 19. Karen will give her the sign to use for the show and
then she will put the sign up on Brookdale Health property with their approval.
SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT:
No report.
OTHER EVENTS:
Brookdale Library will have someone at the Craft & Business Expo from 10:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Sue LaCrosse asked if anyone needed an Earle Brown Days polo shirt.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Cathy Ballot reported a balance of $29,207.92 in checking.
EXT MEETING: Room 221 (upper level) at the
N Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the
COMMUNITY CENTER.
ADJOURN:
There was a motion by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Ben Trapskin to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
