Meeting Minutes
November 17, 2009
PRESENT:
Mike Meyer, Joy Reinhart, Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Karen Youngberg, Kelly Stade, and Sue
LaCrosse.
Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Karen Youngberg to
approve the minutes of the October 20, 2009 meeting. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Cathy Ballot reported a balance of $17,408.29 in checking. There was a
motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Karen Youngberg to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
BUDGET WORKSHEET:
The committee reviewed projected income and expenses for 2010. Karen
Youngberg reported that Visit Minneapolis North still plans to donate $2,000. There was a motion by Phil
Cohen, seconded by Mike Meyer to approve the preliminary budget. Motion carried.
CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE:
Phil Cohen reported the Centennial Celebration has been brought up to
the Special Events Committee. The kickoff event will be the birthday party. He hopes to have promotional
materials at this year’s birthday party. Keith Lester has agreed to get things going and will come to this
month’s Special Events Committee meeting to share his ideas. Phil Cohen said we need to leave a legacy of
some kind.
PARADE ROUTE:
Mike Meyer reported the Lions Club voted unanimously to approve the parade
route. He said he has met with police, public works and Odyssey Charter School. The school is excited for
the parade to end at their site. There was a motion by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Cathy Ballot to
approve the parade route for 2010. Motion carried.
NEXT MEETING:Room 221 at COMMUNITY CENTER.
