Meeting Minutes
February 16, 2010
PRESENT:
Mike Meyer, Joy Reinhart, Cathy Ballot, Phil Cohen, Kelly Stade and Sue LaCrosse.
Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Mike Meyer to
approve the minutes of the January 19, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Cathy Ballot reported a balance of $16,821.81 in checking. There was a
motion by Mike Meyer, seconded by Phil Cohen to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
BUDGET/FINANCE:
Letters will be going out.
CRAFT & BUSINESS EXPO:
Joy Reinhart reported that we issued a refund to someone who was in the
show last year. She threatened to make a big deal about it if we didn’t send her a refund. Even though we
don’t think anything would come of it, we decided to send her the refund. Vendor letters are going out. Sue
LaCrosse needs to get someone else to do the Kid’s Craft Area.
DUNKIN THE DOLPHIN BIRTHDAY PARTY:
No report.
FACE PAINTING:
Face painting is all set.
FAMILY FUN & GAMES:
Phil Cohen asked if someone can fill the water balloons again.
FIREWORKS:
A 5,000 show is booked.
GOLF TOURNAMENT:
The tournament is scheduled.
HONOR OUR VETERANS:
Phil Cohen reported he got a complaint that the Legion was not recognized
as much as the VFW. The flags will be hung nicer this year.
KID’S FISHING CONTEST:
Sue LaCrosse needs to talk to Kevin Benner. Phil Cohen will talk to
BrookPark Dental.
MAGIC SHOW:
The committee approved the magic show.
MIDNIGHT BREEZE:
The band is ready.
PARADE ROUTE:
Mike Meyer believes Luther Auto will supply cars again. He is going to request 5.
PUBLICITY:
Sue LaCrosse said there will be a full page in the summer City Watch. She will invite Vickie

from city hall to the next meeting to discuss signs.
OTHER EVENTS:
The committee discussed the following options for characters: Spiderman, Bob the
Builder, Princess, PBS characters, Tinkerbell, Frog Princess, Curious George, and super heroes. The police
and fire departments will be invited to bring vehicles during the 1-2 p.m. timeslot. The Brooklyn Center
Puppet Playhouse will have a show.
NEW BUSINESS:
There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Mike Meyer to renew our membership
with the BCBA. Motion carried. Henry Dorff’s name will be taken off the account, address on checks will
be changed to City’s address and statements sent to Cathy Ballot’s house.
NEXT MEETING:Room 221 at COMMUNITY CENTER.
