HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011 06-14 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes June 14, 2011 PRESENT: Phil Cohen, Myrna Kauth, Mike Meyer, Cathy Ballot, Joy Reinhart, Karen Youngberg, and Sue LaCrosse. Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:37 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES No minutes to approve. TREASURER’S REPORT Cathy Ballot reported the balance in our checking account is $18,879.77. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Karen Youngberg to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. BUDGET/FINANCE Sue LaCrosse said there have not been many changes. There have been two additional vendors and two additional paid units. Phil Cohen said Brookdale Health was disappointed they could not get in the Craft & Business Expo. He said maybe we should look at changing the criteria. Sue LaCrosse asked if this could be tabled to a future meeting. Phil Cohen said he went to Bremer Bank and Lucy told him they will do something. Luther Chevrolet is committed to $300. Phil Cohen will go talk to Dale at Cass Screw. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Myrna Kauth to receive the budget report. Motion carried. SIGNS Mike Meyer said he has changed all the dates on the signs. He said they should be up by Thursday. EVENTS Characters – All set. Craft & Business Expo - Joy Reinhart said Janet Ransom is not able to make the show this year. She has requested that her $35 payment to next year’s show because she has a conflict. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Karen Youngberg to honor her request. Motion carried. The letters have gone out. Phil Cohen and Cathy Ballot said volunteers are set for 8-10 a.m. Dunkin The Dolphin Birthday Party – Mike Meyer said Cub will donate 500 buns and sell the hot dogs at a reduced price. Sue LaCrosse said Metro Dentalcare will have a table because they donated $300 for this event. Face Painting – All set. Family Fun & Games – Cathy Ballot said she is working on getting door prizes. Farm Animals/Petting Zoo – All set. Honor Our Veterans – Myrna Kauth reported that Jeannine is working on the program. The poles are 1 a problem. They may use the ones from the Legion. She called Keith Lester to ask him to sing and he is out of town. Myrna Kauth and Phil Cohen will go over to Cass Screw to meet with Dale Greenwald. Kid’s Craft Area – Sue LaCrosse said she will use crafts from previous years. There will be no additional cost this year. Kid’s Fishing Contest – All set. Magic Show – No report. Music/Fireworks – All set. st Parade – Mike Meyer reported the overall grand champion will receive $300. 1 Place A & AA will nd receive $175, 2 place A & AA will receive $125 and BCHS will receive a $100 stipend. Petting Zoo – All set. Publicity – Sue LaCrosse said the Brooklyn Park Tater Daze information in the Sun Post was not very good this year. It is expected that Earle Brown Days will not be any better. Sue asked them if she could proof the information but it was never sent. Rockinˊ Hollywoods – All set. Senior Golf Tournament – Mike Meyer said there are still spaces available for the afternoon tee times. NEW BUSINESS There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Myrna Kauth to pay the following bills: Fun Characters $ 390 Face painters and characters Rockin’ Hollywoods 2300 Concert The Flyers 400 Concert Motion carried.
