Meeting Minutes
May 17, 2011
PRESENT:
Karen Youngberg, Phil Cohen, Mynra Kragness, Joy Reinhart, Mike Meyer, Cathy
Ballot, and Sue LaCrosse.
Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Cathy Ballot to approve the minutes of April 19,
2011. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Cathy Ballot reported the balance in our checking account is $23,492.88.
BUDGET/FINANCE
The committee reviewed the budget sheet. Sue LaCrosse said we will only have about $8,000 carryover
for next year. We are not getting the donations we have in the past and we have not heard anything from
Medtronic. Phil Cohen will contact Dale Greenwald about donating. Sue LaCrosse will send Phil
Cohen a list of the donations we have so far.

Onsite Locations:
Brooklyn Center High School – permission granted.
Oak City Grill – permission granted.
Centerbrook Golf Course - permission granted.
Community Center - permission granted.
Business/Commercial Locations:
Cub Foods - permission granted.
Brookdale Health - permission granted.
Luther Brookdale Chevrolet - Phil Cohen will get approval.
North Memorial Clinic Brooklyn Center Physicians - Phil Cohen will get approval.
West Fire Station – permission granted.
EVENTS
Characters
– All set.
Craft & Business Expo
– Joy Reinhart will work on the map. Phil Cohen asked how many Rotarians
were needed and the time. We need four people from 8:30-10:00 a.m.
Dunkin The Dolphin Birthday Party
– No report
Face Painting
– No report.

Family Fun & Games
– Cathy Ballot said she is working on getting door prizes. Sue LaCrosse said
Brent Haugen from Minneapolis Northwest sent out an eblast and we have received four door prizes
from that.
Farm Animals/Petting Zoo
– Cathy Ballot said it is all set.
Honor Our Veterans
– Myrna Kragness reported the flyovers will take place at 6:45 p.m. They will do
four formations, there will be a presentation of the colors, scouts, pledge of allegiance, singing of the
armed services songs led by Lin Myszkowski and her husband and eight checks will be presented from
the Military Fund. Myrna Kragness asked if there would be access to a wireless microphone. Sue
LaCrosse will check.
Kid’s Craft Area
– No report.
Kid’s Fishing Contest
– We have received the donation from BrookPark Dental and the police will
assist.
Magic Show
– No report.
Music/Fireworks
– All set.
Parade
– Mike Meyer reported there are six bands, 2 band non competition, 2 clown units, 6 radio, 2
television stations, 5 churches, 1 float for a total of 65 units not including the police and fire.
Petting Zoo
– All set.
Publicity
– Sue LaCrosse is working on publicity. The signs need to be revised.
Rockinˊ Hollywoods
– All set.
Senior Golf Tournament
– No report.
NEW BUSINESS
There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Karen Youngberg to approve payment of $1,100.00 to
West Bend for insurance and $924.00 to NW Community Television for the commercial. Motion
carried.
