Civic Group Involvement
Phil Cohen said each organization can recognize one of their members for a special award. They can
use one of the awards they presently give. Or if they want, they can recognize someone they think
deserves special attention. He said one of the purposes of the special events committee is to pull all
of the organizations together.
Time Capsule
Tony Kuefler drafted a letter. He thinks it should go out separately from the invitation.
Banquet Update
Councilmember Lasman has finalized plans at the Heritage Center. She said the timeline works for
them. She said the Laser Shows have not been very successful at the Heritage Center. Phil Cohen
would like her to follow up with a name given to her by a staff person at the Heritage Center.
Tony Kuefler said the Historical Society would make a presentation.
Kay Lasman said Brooklyn Center would not be able to perform. Park Center has a show that
features Will Rogers material. They would like to do it. It is a ½ hour show.
Tony Kuefler would like the letter about the time capsule to go out soon and the invitations after the
holidays. Tony made an invitation and handed out copies to everyone.
Phil Cohen said Margaret Sandberg would take care of decorations.
Doug Darnell will contact a person at his school to connect with some diversity groups.
Pastor Bruce Hobbs said he was unable to put together the Thanksgiving service because of medical
reason.
