HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002 12-19 SECM BROOKLYN CENTER SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2002, 4 PM BROOKLYN CENTER COMMUNITY CENTER MEETING MINUTES Phil Cohen called the Brooklyn Center Special Events Committee meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. ATTENDANCE Tony Kuefler; Kay Lasman, Councilmember; Ed Nelson, Councilmember; Baylon Loosbrock, Rotary; Sue Low; Chamber; Sue LaCrosse, Earle Brown Days; Phil Cohen, Chairman. FINANCIAL REPORT Phil Cohen reported a checkbook balance of $1,237.00. He handed out a draft of the budget submitted for tentative approval. He is going to look at Trophies By Linda for the awards. If an organization donates money, checks should be made payable to Special Events. Sue Low is working on a business contribution. There was a motion by Tony Kuefler, seconded by Sue Low to approve the financial report. Motion carried. SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS Tony Kuefler handed out awards criteria and an application form that was developed by the sub-committee. He recommends it be sent out to clubs and organizations with the invitations. There was a motion by Tony Kuefler, seconded by Sue Low to adopt the Special Recognition Awards criteria. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 21, 2002 There was a motion by Tony Kuefler, seconded by Kay Lasman to adopt the minutes of November 21, 2002. Motion carried. MEETING DATE SCHEDULE Thursday, January 9, 4:00 p.m. Brooklyn Center Community Center, Cohen Room. ADJOURNMENT – There was a motion by Kay Lasman, seconded by Ed Nelson to adjourn the meeting.
