HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004 01-29 SECM BROOKLYN CENTER SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2004, 4:05 PM MEETING MINUTES Chairman Phil Cohen called the Brooklyn Center Special Events Committee meeting to order at 4:12 p.m. ATTENDANCE Dale Greenwald, Tony Kuefler, Taxpayers Association; Kay Lasman, Council Liaison; Baylon Loosbrock, Vice-President; Len Lasman; Dorothy Jacobson, Women’s Club; Pastor Bruce Hobbs, Vice-President; Phil Cohen, President; Sue LaCrosse, recreation staff liaison. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Pastor Bruce Hobbs, seconded by Councilmember Baylon Loosbrock to approve the minutes of January 22, 2004. Motion carried. FINANCIAL REPORT Phil Cohen reported he has received $200 from the Lions Club, $200 from Women’s Club, $200 from Taxpayers, and $100 from Lioness Club. Sue LaCrosse said the Prayer Breakfast committee made their check out to the City of Brooklyn Center. The actual dinner cost is $27.33 per person, but there is a minimum room rental of $3,000. We will make a profit of $2.67 per person on any reservations over 100. THEME DEVELOPMENT: Phil Cohen is still working on this. SPECIAL AWARDS/CIVIC INVOLVEMENT Sue LaCrosse reported the nominations she has received to date. They are Rita Ascher, Don Carson, Phil Cohen, Gil Engdahl, Donn Escher, Debbie Felten, Tom Shinnick. Other awards will be given to Bremer Bank, Toni Johns, Dale Greenwald and Jay Vang.
