HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005 01-27 SECM BROOKLYN CENTER SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2005, 4:00 PM MEETING MINUTES Tony Kuefler called the Brooklyn Center Special Events Committee meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. ATTENDANCE Len Lasman; Tom Shinnick, Brooklyn Historical Society; Tony Kuefler, Taxpayers Association; Baylon Loosbrock, Treasurer; Evelyn Byron, Women’s Club; Kay Lasman, Council Liaison, Dale Greenwald, Sue Low, Phil Cohen, President; Sue LaCrosse, recreation staff liaison. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Tom Shinnick, seconded by Baylon Loosbrock to approve the minutes of the January 20 meeting. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT Baylon Loosbrock reported $1,079.07 in the bank and $550 in the City account but earmarked for the Birthday Celebration. The total is $1,629.07. Tom Shinnick presented a check for $100 from the Historical Society. There was a motion by Tom Shinnick, seconded by Evelyn Byron to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried. Dan Vang has paid for 10 reservations. His check was made out to the Special Events Committee. CIVIC GROUP INVOLVEMENT The nominees to date are: Earle Brown Days Tony Ditty Special Events Committee Pastor Bruce Hobbs Brooklyn Center Women’s Club Dorothy Jacobson Taxpayers Byron Brekke Lions Club Bob Becker Rotary Karen Youngberg Knights of Columbus Frank Noonan Brooklyn Peacemaker Center Connie Garrits THEME DEVELOPMENT No report. PROGRAM/ENTERTAINMENT Councilmember Kay Lasman will get information from Linda Boreen for the program handout. NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be determined.
