BROOKLYN CENTER SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
THURSDAY, JANUARY 13, 2010, 4:30 PM
MEETING MINUTES
Phil Cohen called the Special Events Committee meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
ATTENDANCE
Phil Cohen, President; Baylon Loosbrock, Treasurer; Doug Darnell, Tom Shinnick, Lions Club; Dr.
Duane Orn; Tony Kuefler, Taxpayers; Sue Low; and Sue LaCrosse, recreation staff liaison.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Doug Darnell, seconded by Tom Shinnick to approve the minutes of January
6, 2011. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Baylon Loosbrock reported $2,648.23 in checking. It was reported Rotary will contribute $200.
Tom Shinnick said he will check with Mike Meyer on Lions Club contribution. There was a motion
by Tony Kuefler, seconded by Tom Shinnick to approve the Treasurer’s report.
CIVIC AWARDS
Sue LaCrosse reported we have 21 civic award recipients.
TIMELINE
The committee discussed the timeline. The tentative timeline was approved.
PROGRAM
Dr. Duane Orn contacted BCHS and Daniel Kreckelberg and Shawn Filosi will video tape. Dr. Orn
will pay for their dinner tickets. Baylon Loosbrock will take photos. He will need two marks on the
floor.
OTHER
Sue LaCrosse said Councilmember Kay Lasman would like the committee to figure out what they
want on the cake. The committee would like the cake in the outline of the City with the Centennial
logo large and the All America City logo smaller in one of the corners.
For table favors we will have the notepads, Centennial pens and Go Red pins.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held Thursday, January 27 at 4:30 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
There was a motion by Tom Shinnick, seconded by to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was
adjourned at 5:33 p.m.
