HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977 06-23 PCM MINUTES OF 1HE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA STUDY SESSION June 23, 1977 Call to Order: The Planning Commission met in study session and was called to order a-t 8:40 p.m. by Chairman Scott. Roll Call : Chairman Scott, Commissioners Engdahl , Pierce and Jacobson. Also present were Director of Planning and Inspection Blair Tremere and Planning Aide Laurie Thompson. Approve Minutes: Motion by Commissioner Jacobson seconded by Commissioner May 12, 1977 Engdahl to approve the minutes of the May 12, 1977 meeting as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Scott, Commissioners Engdahl and Jacobson. Not voting: Com- missioner Pierce who was not present at that meeting. Motion passed. May 26, 1977 Motion by Commissioner Pierce seconded by Commissioner Engdahl *to approve the minutes of the May 26, 1977 meeting as submitted. Voting in favor: Commissioners Engdahl , Jacobson and Pierce. Not voting: Chairman Scott who was not present at the meeting. June 9, 1977 Motion by Commissioner Jacobson seconded by Commis- . sioner Pierce to approve the -minutes of the June 9, 1977 meeting as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Scott, Commissioners Jacobson and Pierce. Not voting: Commissioner Engdahl who was not present at the meeting. Review Rezoning The Secretary introduced the first item of business Evaluation Criteria which was the continued review of Rezoning Evaluation Criteria. He presented the third draft of the Criteria and an extensive discussion ensued. Other Business In' other business the Secretary reported on the status of the Brookdale Ford site improvements per Application No. 76054. He stated the applicant was having a site survey completed so that accurate drainage plans could be prepared as part of the overall master planning and landscape planning for the site. He also explained that the staff had met jointly witn the Brookdale Ford ownership and the ownership of the property to the north relative to future access to both properties from Shingle Creek Parkway. The Secretary commented that Brookdale Ford ownership was negotiating with Northern States Power Company as to acquiring the right-of-way which had been abandoned within the last few months. Commissioner Jacobson Commissioner Jacobson left the meeting at 9:05 p.m. Leaves The Secretary briefly reviewed a number of pending items and Chairman Scott mentioned that the Mayor would soon be scheduling a joint meeting of all the Advisory Commissions relative to the Mandatory Plan- ning Act and the Critical Area Act Comprehensive Planning. Continue Meeting There being no further business Chairman Scott con- tinued the meeting until the regular July session noting that a quorum was not present for adjournment. Chairman _1_ 6-23-77
