RESOLUTION NO. 2013-08
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF KARA
KUYKENDALL FOR HER DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE HOUSING
COMMISSION AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Kara Kuykendall served on the Housing Commission from November 27,
2006,to December 31,2007; and
WHEREAS, Kara Kuykendall served on the Planning Commission from December 10,
2007,to December 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Housing Commission, she contributed to developing and
recommending standards for occupancy and maintenance of housing for the community; and
WHEREAS, Kara Kuykendall has made significant contributions as a member of the
Planning Commission, including review of land use, redevelopment, platting, rezoning and special use
applications, plan approval,variances, and review of the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, her leadership and expertise have been greatly appreciated by the Housing
Commission and the Planning Commission;and
WHEREAS, her public service and civic effort for the betterment of the community merit
the gratitude of the citizens of Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, it is highly appropriate that her service to the community should be
recognized and expressed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, that Kara Kuykendall is hereby recognized and appreciated by the City of Brooklyn
Center, and this resolution serves as a visible and lasting expression of gratitude for the leadership and
service she has rendered to the citizens of Brooklyn Center.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Dan Ryan
and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof:
Tim Willson, Carol Kleven, Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski, and Dan Ryan;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
