WORKING GROUPS Keith Lester said he would like to cancel the April 28 meeting. He would like a month to meet with the working groups before the committee meets again. BRANDING Keith Lester reported he met with Vickie Schleuning and Sue LaCrosse to discuss the website. The website will hopefully include a countdown to the opening event, a historic timeline of pictures and an interactive map. The committee liked the design but would like the City logo changed to white. Keith distributed two updated logo samples. The committee decided they liked the one with the two buildings in it, but wanted the appendage removed. Keith Lester had a staff member begin working on a handout. The front side will be colorful and the backside will have information on how to get involved and who to contact. The committee discussed making the picture of the past smaller, having a picture of the present in the middle and a picture of kids for the future. It was recommended to take off some of the words on the front. Keith Lester said he has a meeting with the superintendents and will ask each to assign someone from their districts. Councilmember Dan Ryan suggested a memory book type idea for the front of the handout with an overlay of pictures. Brett Hildreth said by having three different pictures, it would appeal to different people. Councilmember Kay Lasman reported that the first Minnesota resident to go into space lives in the metro area. Her name is Marie Slefanyshya Piper. She thought this might be an idea as we go into the future. Keith Lester said we will be ordering merchandise. It will be for key people to wear as they go out to generate interest. MEETING SCHEDULE May 12 & 26, 5:30 p.m. in room 221 of the Community Center. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned. 1 Respectfully Submitted, Sue LaCrosse City Liaison 2
