POWER POINT PRESENTATION
Keith Lester made a power point presentation. It included a mission statement, goals, and action
items. He explained that we would build from existing events. The suggested work groups are:
Educational, Community, Special Events, Tourism & Marketing, Historical, and Cultural with
representation from various service and ethnic groups. The planning proposal includes a theme, logo,
activities/events, fundraising, media and PR, and promotional materials. Several logo designs were
shown. He explained that the work to do includes developing membership for committee and work
groups, setting regular meeting day and time, choosing a logo and selecting initial promotional items.
It was suggested we contact Dave Looby at Visit Minneapolis North for the Tourism & Marketing
work group and Rev. Jerry O’Neal from Cross of Glory or someone from Brookdale Covenant
Church for the committee. Tony Kuefler was suggested to work with the Time Capsule. Phil Cohen
asked if we could break up history into segments. It was also suggested we request representation

OTHER IDEAS
Phil Cohen suggested developing a presentation to take over to the Palmer Lake VFW and the
American Legion to solicit their support. He said St. Paul does a city-wide school patrol picnic every
year. He suggested maybe the police department could do something like this as part of our history
and heritage.
MEDIA/PROMOTION
Keith Lester said we need to find stories about the Centennial that the media will want to use. Phil
Cohen suggested creating a promotional kit which would go to the organizations’ boards. This
would tell them what is happening and how they can get involved. He said most organizations set
their budgets in July. Keith Lester said we could use the logo on our email messages.
