Earth Fest
Keith Lester said there will be about 100 vendors at Earth Fest. One of the events is kite making
for kids. The total cost for the kites is $400. They have received $200 in donations. If the
Centennial committee could donate $100, then they could provide a kite to 100 children for $1.
If the Centennial committee could donate $200, then they could provide a kite to 100 children for
free. Sue LaCrosse said the Centennial committee had wanted to offer a kite making event and
never got it off the ground. There was a motion by Margaret Sandberg, seconded by Sharon
Kephart to donate $200. Motion carried. Jeff Delzer said he would contribute $100 to the
Centennial to be allocated to the kite making event at Earth Fest.
New events on website
Sue LaCrosse said the photo contest, auction and wedding dress show are all on the website.
Proclamations and Resolutions
Sharon Kephart reported she had the idea to have some of the proclamations and resolutions
printed and sold as a set as an auction item. We would only have a certain number printed and
they would be notarized with a certificate from the mayor that they were authentic. Sue
LaCrosse said she would like to check with the city manager to make sure the City is okay with
this. Margaret Sandberg questions whether anyone would purchase them. Sharon Kephart said
she has already had some requests. There was a motion by Brett Hildreth, seconded by Warren
Olson to authorize Sharon to spend up to $200 to get this done. Motion carried. Keith Lester
suggested Franz in Brooklyn Center.
Vintage Wedding Dress Show
Margaret Sandberg said she has blurbs going in several church bulletins. She also has a flyer
going in school, UPS and senior buildings break rooms. George Lucht from Malmborg’s will
give plants for the state. Keith Lester will provide an arch. Jody Rossi from BCHS will provide
girls to model the dresses. She is still looking for tuxedos but if she can’t find them, the escorts
can just wear suits. She needs a flower girl.

BC Jaycees & Mrs. Jaycees
Phil Cohen reported that there is interest in having a BC Jaycees and Mrs. Jaycees reunion
maybe the Sunday after Earle Brown Days. They would like to make this possible reunion a
Centennial event as the Jaycees did so much for the community of Brooklyn Center. There was
a motion by Dr. Duane Orn, seconded by Warren Olson to make this a Centennial event. Motion
carried. Dr. Duane Orn said many of the former Jaycees are successful businessman and may be
potential contributors.

document regarding the genesis of the high school. He said he started one and showed it to his
wife. Keith Lester said he should continue working on it.
Dr. Duane Orn showed a photo of the antique car that could be in the parade. He said FastSigns
