Dr. Duane Orn presented the budget. We have received $42,300 to date in in-kind, cash, and pledge donations. Brent Haugen said the marketing subcommittee would be willing to coordinate the efforts of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter. He is looking at adding a tab on the Centennial Facebook page where people could donate online. He said it is the face to face contacts where you will get the most bang for your buck. Once we have the donation page set up, he will send out an e-message. Phil Cohen suggested sending out a press release to announce the amount of money raised. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Brett Hildreth that the Centennial Amphitheater Fundraising subcommittee generate press releases once a month. Motion carried. There was a motion by Myrna Kragness-Kauth, seconded by Phil Cohen to have the marketing subcommittee coordinate the social media efforts of fundraising. Motion carried. Paul Vanvoorhis of the State Highway Patrol arrived and said he will try to get the vintage squad cars in the Earle Brown Days parade. The State Highway Patrol is not allowed to do any fundraising. There is no memorial for the State Highway Patrol. They do not own any buildings. He was given a couple fundraising packets and will present the materials to the Troopers Association. Phil Cohen and Myrna Kragness-Kauth met with the Legion and it went very well. Myrna Kragness-Kauth said she had been talking to them prior to the meeting. After the presentation was made, the Legion made a pledge of $5,000. They have paid $2,000 of the $5,000 pledge. It was suggested we get the dimensions of the Amphitheater. Dr. Duane Orn will ask Janis at their next Amphitheater design meeting. On Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. Myrna Kragness-Kauth and Phil Cohen will meet with the Lions Club. Phil Cohen and Dr. Duane Orn met with Curt Johnson at Luther and Jerry Pedlar of North Memorial. Jerry Pedlar will take the information to their foundation. Earl Simons said that fundraising for the Lions has dwindled in the last few years. He is hopeful they should be able to donate $5,000 or a little more. Dr. Duane Orn said they are working with the architect to see how we could incorporate the logos on the structure that would respect the integrity of the design. Phil Cohen said when they 1 made their presentations, they told them something would be done and they would get back to them on what would be done. Myrna Kragness-Kauth suggested all logos be the same size. Dr. Duane Orn said the flag area could be called Memorial Plaza. To do:  Phil Cohen will contact Tom Shinnick about joining this subcommittee.  Brett Hildreth will follow up with his contact from Target.  Phil Cohen will contact someone from Gatlin.  Myrna Kragness-Kauth will contact someone with the FBI.  Brett Hildreth will contact Joe Lampi.  Myrna Kragness-Kauth will contact Omar of Surley Brewery. Jeff Delzer said he and his wife drove around the city and developed a list of businesses. He suggested we do a simple mailing to them that would include a list of events, the food drive and the Amphitheater materials. Myrna Kragness-Kauth said if we do this, it should be made attractive. Phil Cohen asked that we put on the agenda for next time whether we should have a display at Earle Brown Days. Next Meeting The next meeting is Wednesday, May 4 at 5:00 p.m. There was a motion by Myrna Kragness-Kauth, seconded by Jeff Delzer to adjourn the meeting. Respectfully Submitted, Sue LaCrosse Program Supervisor 2
