Amphitheater Fundraising Committee
Meeting Notes
June 1, 2011
Dr. Duane Orn called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Dr. Duane Orn, Jeff Delzer, Phil Cohen, Earl Simons, Myrna Kauth, Sharon Kephart,
Sue Low, Al Lindquist and Sue LaCrosse.
Al Lindquist showed the committee a rendition of the Osseo bandshell that had been done for
them by their architect. This rendition rotated so that all sides could be seen. They presented
this to the businesses and organizations when they went to solicit donations. The concrete,
roofing and electrical items were donated inkind. He said the City charges something for
someone to use the bandshell. The City does sell bricks for their patio but it has nothing to do
with the bandshell. Sue LaCrosse will email Janis to see if he can put something like that
together. The committee thanked Al Lindquist for taking the time to speak.
Dr. Duane Orn brought samples of the bricks.
Dr. Duane Orn reported on a design and location update. It will fit in the area between the trail
and the parking lot.
Jeff Delzer suggested a memorial along the flagpole base.
There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Sue Low to discuss a plan of action for the
pavers at the July 6 meeting. Motion carried.
There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Sharon Kephart to continue making contacts
with potential donors.
Myrna Kauth reported she, Phil Cohen and Dr. Duane Orn will make a presentation to the
Knights of Columbus on July 7 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Al’s. Phil Cohen and Dr. Duane Orn met with
Joe Boston and Jerry Pedlar of North Memorial. Phil Cohen said he thought it went well. He
said he needs to follow up with Luther. Earl Simons reported the Lions Club has committed to
$5,000 which we will probably receive in July. They met on June 28 with Charlie LeFevere.
There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Sue Low to adjourn the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
