tournament silent auction. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Earl Simons to

OLD BUSINESS
Knights of Columbus:
Dr. Duane Orn said Myrna Kauth is setting up a meeting.
Luther Update:
Phil Cohen suggested waiting until after the election. Then, he will try to
find out when Linda McGinty will be back to Brooklyn Center.
Lloyd’s Barbecue Ribs Dinner:
Earl Simons reported he had presented this to the Lions
Club. He said Tom Shinnick thought this could be a partnership with Rotary. The Lions Club
did approve working on the dinner but would not sell tickets. They have questions on the
liability. Tom Shinnick planned to arrange a meeting with Phil Cohen, Dr. Duane Orn, and Earl
Simons. Earl Simon’s idea was to have the four organizations - BCBA, Lions, Rotary and the
Legion work together. He said the Lions have a busy fundraising schedule in the next few
months. We would need a facility that could take care of 400 people. He said it would also give
us an opportunity to present the Amphitheater project. Earl Simons will set up a meeting to
determine if it can be done. There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Sharon Kephart to
table this idea until after this group has met. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Payment from Mr. LeFevere:
$2,500 was pledged and we have received the first payment
of $1,250.
Donation Update:
We received $47,000 from the Gatlin Development Company and from
other contractors affiliated with the Shingle Creek Crossings project. We need to send thank you
letters. Phil Cohen and Sue LaCrosse will work on the letters.

We should send out another press release to the Post.
Plaque:
Phil Cohen drafted a document of what could go on the plaque wall of the
Amphitheater. There was a motion by Brett Hildreth, seconded by Sharon Kephart to convert
the in-kind contributions to the financial equivalent for the plaque. Motion carried. It was
decided we would have Jeannine Pfann from the recreation department revise the wording. Sue
LaCrosse commended Phil Cohen for doing this and said it captured the essence of what we
wanted for the plaque.
Bricks:
Sharon Kephart suggested getting information to the Neighborhood Watch
Groups. Dr. Duane Orn said we need a sales plan.

Center – Amphitheater.
