Amphitheater Fundraising Committee
Meeting Notes
January 4, 2012
Dr. Duane Orn called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Dr. Duane Orn, Sue Low, Brett Hildreth, Earl Simons, Sharon Kephart, Phil Cohen and
Sue LaCrosse.
Minutes:
There was a motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Sharon Kephart to approve the
minutes of December 14, 2011. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
Sue LaCrosse reported one more brick was sold.
Reports:
Dr. Duane Orn said the sub-committee to work on the memos has not met.
OLD BUSINESS
Knights of Columbus:
Dr. Duane Orn would like to send a thank you to the Knights for
allowing them to make a presentation.
Luther Update:
Phil Cohen hasn’t heard back yet. He is putting together a certificate of
appreciation for Luther for providing a room for the Rotary Poinsettias sales. He will send Linda
an invitation to the presentation.
Thank You Letters:
Dr. Duane Orn went over to the Shingle Creek Crossing site to try
to get names for the letters.
Press Release:
No update.
Phil Cohen proposed that the committee make a report to the City Council to update them on the
Amphitheater fundraising. It will give us some exposure to television and to the Sun Post
newspaper. He wants to include a memo, in-kind and cash pledges, cash contributions,
Centennial Celebration financial statement, a rendition of the plaque, the committee and a list of
the Gatlin contributors. Sue LaCrosse suggested it be put into a booklet format. There was a
motion by Earl Simons, seconded by Sharon Kephart to approve the concept of an Amphitheater
report. Motion carried. Sue LaCrosse will have a draft available at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Metal Roof Donation:
No report.
Anchor Block Donation:
No report.
Target Corporation:
Brett Hildreth has started to assemble the documents.

Legacy Funds:
The committee will continue to monitor any changes to the legacy funds
criteria.
Lang Nelson:
Dr. Duane Orn will contact them.
Lions Club:
The Lions Club presentation will focus on the bricks. Any additional
contributions will be welcome.
Evans-Nordby:
Phil Cohen said he will try for next Friday, pending any funerals. He will
meet with Tom Weber.
Brookdale Health:
This is pending.
Wells Fargo:
They talked to Frank Slawson who said Wells Fargo doesn’t look good for a
donation. He will get them a name at the Pohlad Foundation.
Diane & Darryl Sannes:
Earl Simons and Dr. Duane Orn met with Diane Sannes.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting is Wednesday, January 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Adjourn:
There was a motion by Earl Simons, seconded by Sue Low to adjourn the
meeting. The meeting was adjourned.
