Amphitheater Fundraising Committee
Meeting Notes
May 2, 2012
Dr. Duane Orn called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Dr. Duane Orn, Earl Simons, Sharon Kephart, Phil Cohen and Sue LaCrosse.
Dr. Duane Orn said the April 18 meeting was canceled. He said we will be working off the April
4 meeting agenda.
Minutes:
There was a motion by Earl Simons, seconded by Sharon Kephart to approve the
minutes of April 4, 2012 minutes. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
Sue LaCrosse reported we have $129,413.
OLD BUSINESS
Luther Update:
Dr. Duane Orn said this is pending due to the conflict of Earle Brown
Days. Phil Cohen said there will be an open house next week. Phil Cohen and Dr. Duane Orn
plan to attend.
Thank You Letters:
The letters have gone out. Earl Simons will see if he can get contact
names for a few of the Shingle Creek Crossing donors. Phil Cohen said Kraus-Anderson was the
builder for the FBI building. He will check to see how they could be approached. He said the
Rotary meeting with the FBI went good.
Metal Roof/Anchor Block Donations:
Dr. Duane Orn said Myrna Kauth will contact the
person.
Cement Block:
Dr. Duane Orn will make a follow up call to Robert Marvin.
Target Corporation:
No report.
Lang Nelson:
Earl Simons said there is a senior luncheon at BCHS. Someone from
Lang Nelson may be attending. Earl Simons said Don Poss will be back in June. He may be
able to connect us with someone at Lang Nelson.
Evans-Nordby:
Phil Cohen will set up a follow up meeting with Tom Weber and Keith
Nordby.
Brookdale Health:
Dr. Duane Orn contacted Dr. Erickson and is awaiting his call back.
Medtronic Foundation:
Earl Simons will follow up with this.
BCHS Anniversary:
Earl Simons and Dr. Duane Orn will talk to George Larson and
Jody Rossi.
Website:
Dr. Duane Orn said the information is now on the City website.

Minnesota Orchestra:
No report.
NEW BUSINESS
Letters:
Comcast Foundation:
Dr. Duane Orn said a letter was sent to Greg Moore with the case
statement, council report and the newspaper article. He forwarded this information to Emmett
Coleman at Comcast. They will wait 7-10 days for further contact.
US Bank:
The letter to US Bank was forwarded to Jeff Arnold, supervisor of Elizabeth
Deziel. Dr. Duane Orn will follow up.
Phil Cohen said he talked to Gary Brummer, developer of Four Courts Apartments at the Crime
Prevention awards. Phil Cohen will set up a meeting with him and invite Dr. Duane Orn, Earl
Simons and Tony Kuefler.
Phil Cohen reported he attended the open house at Minneapolis Northwest. He said Dave Looby
might want to purchase some pavers.
It was suggested we might want to contact Mark Allen.
