HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-041 CCR Member Carol Kleven introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2013-41 RESOLUTION APPROVING A TYPE IV RENTAL LICENSE FOR 5214 EWING AVENUE N WHEREAS, City Ordinance Sections 12-900 to 12-916 set forth requirements for licensed rental properties; and WHEREAS, the property located at 5214 Ewing Avenue N, was issued a Type III Rental License on September 27, 2011; and WHEREAS, the property qualified for a Type IV rental license with an expiration date of October 31, 2012; and WHEREAS, the property qualifies for a Type IV rental license with an expiration date of April 30, 2013;and WHEREAS, City Ordinance Section 12-901.2 requires a property owner who receives a Type IV Rental License complete Phase 1, 11 and III of the Crime Free Housing Program; and WHEREAS, City Ordinance Section 12-914.3.c establishes the,requirement for an owner of a Type IV rental property to complete Phase II of the Crime Free Housing Program, including attendance at a minimum of 50 percent of Owners/Managers Association Meetings, complete Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Requirements and City Ordinance Section 12-913 requires submittal of monthly updates; and WHEREAS, the property owner of 5214 Ewing Avenue N, Brooklyn Center failed to attend Owners/Managers Association Meetings, turn in monthly updates, failed to submit a Crime Free Housing Certificate, and failed to complete security improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that a TYPE IV Rental License is hereby approved for the property at 5214 Ewing Avenue N, Brooklyn Center, MN. March 25 2013 Date Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kris Lawrence-Anderson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Tim Willson, Carol Kleven, Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski, and Dan Ryan; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
