Planning Commission of the City of
Brooklyn Center in the County of
Hennepin and State of Minnesota
November 16, 1972
The Planning Commission met in study session and was called
to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chairman Robert Jensen.
Roll Call: Chairman Jensen, Commissioners Grosshans, Bogucki,
and Scott.
Motion by Commissioner Scott seconded by Commissioner Grosshans
to approve the minutes of the November 2, 1972 meeting. Voting in
favor were Commissioners Grosshans, Bogucki and Scott. Not voting
Chairman Jensen explaining he was not present at the November 2nd
meeting.
The main item of business was continued review and analysis
of the Comprehensive Plan beginning with the section on Land Use
Planning on page 22.
Commissioner Engdahl arrived at 8:16 P.M.
During the review process there was an extensive discussion
relative to the portion of the Comprehensive Plan concerning
community facilities; to the intent and structure of the Capital
Improvement Review Board (C.I .R.B.) ; to the future capital needs
of the City; and to the proper role of the Planning Commission in
defining those needs and working in conjunction with other bodies
such as the C.I.R.B. in updating a guide for community develo_-Anent.
Following the review and analysis which extended through the
section on neighborhood parks on page 35, there was a discussion
of a special meeting to be held later in the month.
It was the consensus that a study meeting be held on Tuesday,
November 28th at 8:00 p.M. Discussion also ensued concerning the
scheduling of meetings in December. It was the consensus that
besides the regularly scheduled December 7th meeting, a study
session should be held on December 14th.
Motion by Commissioner Engdahl, seconded by Commissioner Scott
to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The
meeting adjourned at 11:25 P.M.
