HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970 01-29 PCM Minutes of the Proceedings of the Planning Commission of the City of Brooklyn Center County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota January 29, 1970 The Planning Commission met in study session and was called to order by Chairman Robert Jensen at 7:40 P.M. Roll Call: Chairman Robert Jensen, Commissioners Karl Schuller, Paul Ditter and Charles Nichols were present. Also present was R. L. Haarman. Chairman Jensen recongized Mr. Curtis Danielson from the North- east Neighborhood Committee who briefed the Planning Commission members on the results of the Northeast Neighborhood Committee's study of the Comprehensive Plan for that area. Chairman Jensen accepted the report and directed the Secretary to place it in the Planning Commission files. The next item of business to be considered was Planning Commission Application No. 69066 submitted by Henry Stenquist re- questing a Special Use Permit for his residence at 7100 Willow Lane. Chairman Jensen read for the Commission, letters received encouraging the granting of a Special Use Permit and letters received objecting to the granting of a Special Use Permit. Following a discussion of the application, Chairman Jensen directed the Secretary to obtain an opinion from the City Attorney relative to the definitions of Home Occupation and Home Occupation, Special, and deferred the matter to the regular meeting in February. At this time Chairman Jensen recognized Mr. Paul Bullen from the Southeast Neighborhood Committee who briefed the Planning Commission members on the results of the Southeast Neighborhood Committee's study of the Comprehensive Plan for that area. Chair- man Jensen accepted the report and directed the Secretary to place it in the Planning Commission files. The next item of business to be discussed was Planning Commission Application No. 69061 submitted by Ed Petsuch requesting a Special Use Permit for his residence at 4800 - 71st Avenue North. Discussion of the application with Mr. Petsuch, the applicant, centered on the standards for granting a Special Use Permit and the possibility of conditioning the Special Use Permit with specific time limitations relative to the working hours of the proposed non-resident employee. The matter was deferred to the regular February meeting of the Planning Commission for final action. At this time Chairman Jensen called for consideration of Application No. 69021 submitted by Peterson and Seed requesting rezoning from R3 to R5 in the Northwest Neighborhood. Discussion of the application centered on the wording of a draft resolution which will be introduced at the regular February meeting of the Planning Commission for final action. The remainder of the meeting consisted of a discussion by the Commission of various planning subjects under their consideration. Motion was made by Nichols, seconded by Schuller, to adjourn.
