APPLICATTOWS NO. 70066 and 70067 SUBVIXTTED BY VILLAGER,

MEREAS, Richard Ctirry, representing Village Builders, Inc. ,
has submitted Applications No. 70066 and 70067 -requesting
rezoning froul R! to 11141 classification and site and building
plan approval for a 36 unit apartment coii�plex to be located
at 53rd and Russell Avenues North-; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has rev.-Lewed the request
for rezoning and site and building plan approval at a public
hearing, held pursuant to published and mailed notices, on
January 21st, 1971, and further reviewed said applications on
February 4th, 1971; and
WEEREAS,, the City Council did adopt, in Nmovci-nber of 1966,
a Comprehensive Plan, relating to the uses of land in the
CiLY of Broo]Uyn Center, and recorqaendl-ng that the property
inclUeed in this application be reserved for open space pur-
poses to serve the residents of the Southeast- Neighborhood; and
WBEREAS, it is ascertained by the Commission that because of
its location, rezoning and plan aWroval of the aforemezntioneJ
parcel i,tould set an unwise precedent of ailowing multiple
rezidential development to encroach into designated open

cations kTo. 70066 and 70067 because said applica�tions are
inconsistent with the a0als of the Comprelhensi-ve Plan, and
