Meeting Minutes
June 19, 2012
PRESENT
Joy Reinhart, Mike Meyer, Myrna Kauth, Councilmember Lin Myszkowski, Diane McDonald. Cathy
Ballot, Steve Schmidt, Phil Cohen and Sue LaCrosse.
Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Mike Meyer, seconded by Councilmember Lin Myszkowski to approve the
minutes of June 12, 2012. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Cathy Ballot reported the balance in the checkbook is $19,280.47.
There was a motion by Councilmember Lin Myszkowski, seconded by Mike Meyer to approve the
following bills:
UNL Danceline $100.00 Parade
Aqua Jesters $250.00 Parade
Powder Puff $250.00 Parade
Trophies By Linda $146.97 Parade
Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Budget/Finance:
Sue LaCrosse said not much has changed from last week.
Craft & Business Expo:
The committee decided not to accept the Cutlery vendor. Joy Reinhart
said setup will begin at 8:00 a.m. There will be 3-4 Rotarians and Councilmember Lin Myszkowski to
help.
Kids’ Craft Area:
No report.
Family Fun & Games:
Cathy Ballot said everything is all set.
Golf Tournament:
Mike Meyer said there are still openings.
Honor Our Veterans:
Myrna Kauth reported they will not be using the flags of the US Military
this year due to time constraints. There will be one Boy Scout to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Kids’ Fishing Contest:
No report.
Music/Fireworks:
Phil Cohen requested we add $3,000 to the show. He said he has heard the
comment that we will be short of money next year. This is the last thing people will see. There was a
motion by Phil Cohen, seconded by Councilmember Lin Myszkowski to add $3,000 to the fireworks
th
show. Myrna Kauth said she would like to see it increased. Cathy Ballot said it is our 30 year. Motion
carried.

Parade:
Mike Meyer reported we have 84 units. BIFF’s is all set. Mike Meyer will meet them
between 1-3 p.m. The judging is on Kyle Avenue.
Petting Zoo:
All set.
Publicity:
Sue LaCrosse said the Sun Post supplement did not have the schedule of events or the list
of committee members.
OLD BUSINESS:
Sue LaCrosse said there is a glow-in-the-dark vendor. They will be identified
with vests that say Night Lights on them.
NEW BUSINESS:
Cathy Ballot said there is a deposit of $595.00.
Joy Reinhart said our July meeting will include a wrap-up of 2012 and a brainstorm session of what
Earle Brown Days will look like next year.
NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 4:30 p.m., Room 221 at Community Center.
