TREASURER’S REPORT
Cathy Ballot reported the balance in the check book is $9,361.55.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Budget/Finance:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget sheet. The starting balance for next year is
$9,361.55. She estimates we will have an ending balance of $6,355.47 at the end of next year’s festival.
Craft & Business Expo:
Joy Reinhart suggested changing the time of the Expo if we don’t have
any other activities to attract people. Sue LaCrosse presented a possible schedule, which includes a
puppet show and face painting. The Honor Our Veterans program will be changed to 4:30 p.m. Sue
LaCrosse will contact the fire department to see if they will bring a truck.
Kids’ Craft Area:
No report.
Family Fun & Games:
Cathy Ballot said she has been buying prizes.
Fireworks:
Myrna Kauth suggested we call and ask them to pencil us in.
Golf Tournament:
Sue LaCrosse said they will continue this.
Honor Our Veterans:
Myrna Kauth said they are thinking of having a service man or woman
from each era. They may have some equipment brought in.
Kids’ Fishing Contest:
Phil Cohen will check with BrookPark Dental Center to see if they will
continue as the sponsor.
Music :
At this time, there is no money to hire a group.
Parade:
Sue LaCrosse will check with the Lions Club to make sure they are still going to sponsor
this event.
Petting Zoo:
Cathy Ballot will contact them and book.
Publicity:
Joy Reinhart asked Karen Youngberg to check with the BCBA to see if they are
1
interested in meeting with us. Phil Cohen suggested we contact the scouts about distributing flyers door
to door. Sue LaCrosse said there is a lot involved with us. She said the City used to have the swim club
distribute City Watch rather than mail it. It is a major project to determine areas of distribution. There
is also liability to consider with dangerous dogs and if scouts leave screen doors open. Social media,
such as Facebook, was discussed as an option. We will probably not work with the Sun Post for an ad
supplement again.
Phil Cohen said the families like to stay for the door prizes at Family Fun & Games. He suggested we
talk up that this is for families. Karen Youngberg suggested asking for door prizes from the food
vendors to give away at Family Fun & Games or other events. When people see others eating
something, they want to purchase it.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
None.
NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 4:30 p.m., Room 221 at Community Center.
ADJOURN:
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sue LaCrosse
Program Supervisor
