HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013 06-11 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes June 11, 2013 PRESENT Joy Reinhart, Cathy Ballot, Sue Arneson, Councilmember Carol Kleven, Tom Shinnick and Sue LaCrosse. Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Councilmember Carol Kleven to approve the minutes of June 4, 2013. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $22,224.61. COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Finance: Sue LaCrosse distributed the budget spreadsheet. She said we should have about $9,000 at the end of the year. Craft & Business Expo: Joy Reinhart reported 22 vendors, excluding the food vendors. After talking with Tom Shinnick, they decided not to invite the other food vendor because the food is too similar to the Lions Club. One of the vendors has fishing lures and would like to have his donation go to the Kids’ Fishing Contest. Joy Reinhart needs an extension cord. Kids’ Craft Area: No report. Dunkin’s Jamboree: Sue LaCrosse said they are still working on getting staff. Face Painting: No report. Family Fun & Games: Cathy Ballot reported she has people lined up to work. Councilmember Carol Kleven reported that Cub will donate ten $10 gift cards and some pop. Sue LaCrosse said Lin Myszkowski said she would follow up with Walgreens. Sue LaCrosse said she has some door prizes for this event. Fire Truck: No report. Golf Tournament: Cathy Ballot said people are signing up. Honor Our Veterans: No report. Kids’ Fishing Contest: Sue LaCrosse said BrookPark Dental will have a couple people to help. Music/Fireworks: Sue LaCrosse reported that our fireworks company has closed their business. She met with another company. They will do a $5,000 show. She asked for all aerials because of the amount of people who watch the show offsite. If they set up and it is canceled due to the weather, we 1 would have to have the show on Sunday or lose the money. Parade: Sue Arneson reported the Mayor will be at the awards ceremony. There are 78 units. She has 22 Lions members signed up to work. Petting Zoo: No report. Publicity: Joy Reinhart and Cathy Ballot said the interviews went well. Puppet Show: No report. Recycling: No report. OLD BUSINESS Joy Reinhart needs volunteers to help get vendors going in the morning. Cathy Ballot said she has people coming. NEW BUSINESS: None.
