HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013 03-19 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes March 19, 2013 PRESENT Joy Reinhart, Myrna Kauth, Cathy Ballot, Karen Youngberg, Phil Marbut, Judy Marbut, Councilmember Carol Kleven, Mike Meyer, Tom Shinnick, Lin Myszkowski, and Sue LaCrosse. Joy Reinhart called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Myrna Kauth to approve the minutes of February 19, 2013. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $13,392.32. There was a motion by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Lin Myszkowski to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried. There was a motion by Karen Youngberg, seconded by Lin Myszkowski to appoint Mike Meyer, Phil Marbut and Judy Marbut as new members of the board of directors. Motion carried. COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Finance: Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget spreadsheet. She said that as of today we would have an ending balance of $1,266.47. Craft & Business Expo: Joy Reinhart reported there are seven vendors. Kids’ Craft Area: No report. Dunkin’s Jamboree: No report. Family Fun & Games: Cathy Ballot reported the Rotary Club wants to keep the prizes. They will also keep the same games and age groups. Fire Truck: No report. Golf Tournament: Sue LaCrosse said the fee is $20 and there will be two sets of tee times. Honor Our Veterans: Myrna Kauth said they may be able to bring some equipment. They are not sure of the program. The district will put something in their newsletter to promote it. Kids’ Fishing Contest: No report. Music/Fireworks: Sue LaCrosse said she heard from the Fireworks Company and they will be sending out the contract. Parade: Phil Marbut reported that Anoka canceled. He will confirm with Buffalo. Karen Youngberg knows of a clown club. Sue LaCrosse said a couple of the units want money. 1 Petting Zoo: No report. Publicity: Sue LaCrosse said the Star Tribune will start working on our ad in April or May. Puppet Show: No report. OLD BUSINESS Karen Youngberg reported on the proposal to the BCBA. She said they would like to have a car in the parade. They said any Earle Brown Days member is welcome to attend their meetings and display flyers on a table. They will work on having a link from their website to the Earle Brown Days page. They are interested in getting more information on the Golf Tournament and the Saturday events. They are having their April luncheon at Centerbrook. They may be interested in donating $200 to sponsor an event. Joy asked which event they would be interested in sponsoring. Karen Youngberg said she would meet with them to discuss ideas. NEW BUSINESS: Joy Reinhart reported that she will be retiring from the Earle Brown Days committee at the September meeting. Cathy Ballot reported a deposit of $2,950. NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 4:30 p.m., Room 221 at Community Center. ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned.
