Meeting Minutes
February 18, 2014
PRESENT
Phil Marbut, Judy Marbut, Myrna Kauth, Cathy Ballot, Julie Samuelson, Steve Makowske, John Krause,
Councilmember Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski and Sue LaCrosse.
Cathy Ballot called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Phil Marbut, seconded by Lin Myszkowski to approve the minutes of November
19, 2013. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $9,144.10. There was a motion by Myrna Kauth,
seconded by Phil Marbut to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Budget/Finance:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the updated financial spreadsheet.
Parade:
Phil Marbut reported that invitations went out to six high school bands. Champlin and
Mankato have already responded. It was suggested the parade invitations to units go out around March
15.
Craft & Business Expo:
Sue LaCrosse said the exhibitor applications have been sent out. Kris
Lawrence-Andersons volunteered to help Lin Myszkowski on the day of the event.
Kids’ Craft Area:
No report.
Face Painting:
All set.
Family Fun & Games:
Cathy Ballot said she needs door prizes and will use ribbons or medallions for
the winners of the games.
Fire Truck:
Sue LaCrosse said this is set.
Golf Tournament:
Steve Makowske reported the tournament will be held Friday, June 27. There will
be a fee increase to $25 due to upgrading the menu and prizes.
Kids’ Fishing Contest:
Sue LaCrosse said we have received a sponsorship from BrookPark Dental.
Cathy Ballot will check with the police department to see if they can help again.
Music/Fireworks:
This is all set.
Petting Zoo:
Cathy Ballot said an increase is due to the fact that Walton’s has to pay sales tax now.
Publicity:
Sue LaCrosse said we received the $2,000 from Minneapolis Northwest. The committee

decided they would like to put an ad in the Star Tribune again.
Recycling:
Sue LaCrosse said Jill Dalton will coordinate this again.
OLD BUSINESS
Julie Samuelson reported the church will not sponsor a car show. She said they are excited to have the
parade go down Dupont.
NEW BUSINESS:
Sue LaCrosse reported that Malmborg’s is interested in doing a planting event for children. The
committee said yes as long as children get to take something home. Cathy Ballot reported a deposit of
$1,150.
