Amphitheater Fundraising Task Force
Meeting Notes
May 15, 2013
Dr. Duane Orn called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.
Present: Dr. Duane Orn, Sharon Kephart, Earl Simons, Myrna Kauth and Sue LaCrosse.
Minutes:
There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Sharon Kephart to approve the minutes
of May 1, 2013. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
No financial report.
Paver Tiles Flyers:
Sue LaCrosse designed a trifold brick order form. There was a motion by Sharon
Kephart, seconded by Myrna Kauth to accept the trifold design model and make copies as needed.
Motion carried.
Luther:
Dr. Duane Orn drafted a letter to Chris Johnson, Curt Johnson and David Luther. The
committee made some revisions. Individual letters will be sent to each of them.
Evans-Nordby:
Phil Cohen is still working on this.
Leonard Jacobson:
Myrna Kauth said Len Jacobson suggested we take this off the agenda.
Mystic Lake Casino:
Ernee McArthur is following up with this.
Jim Soderberg:
On hold.
Mike Sims:
Myrna Kauth met with Gary Eitel. After meeting with Gary, she called Mike Sims
regarding a question he had about the Shingle Creek Crossing development. She said Mike Sims
appreciated the follow up and will keep in touch.
Paul Hyde:
Myrna Kauth left a message for him and he has not called back yet.
Mortenson Company:
Dr. Duane Orn plans to make a contact.
Fort Snelling Guidelines:
There was a motion by Sue Low, seconded by Sharon Kephart to use the Fort
Snelling guidelines. Motion carried. A sub-committee of Sue Low, Sharon Kephart and Sue LaCrosse
will meet to review and possibly edit it to meet our needs.
Earle Brown Terrace:
There will be a meeting on May 31 at 8:00 a.m. at Earle Brown Terrace that Dr.
Orn will attend.
Request to City:
Sue LaCrosse proposed a memo to Jim Glasoe from the Amphitheater Fundraising
Committee. She said the City is in the process of developing the 2014 budget. She suggested the
committee ask for financial support. Noted in the memo is that if all of the brick pavers are sold, the City
would recoup its investment. There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Sue Low to make the
request. Motion carried.
Centaur Foundation:
Sue Low said she talked to Jody Rossi. Jody Rossi suggested that instead of
sending out a mailing, we should have it put on their Facebook page.
Adjourn:
There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Sue Low to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:13 p.m.
Next meeting:
Wednesday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m. in room 221 at the community center.
