Adjournment 1 1 Earle Brown Days Brooklyn Center Minnesota 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway 55430 (612)569-3400 Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes June 16, 1992 PRESENT: Kragness, Graham, Neilson Dit ty, Risley, Dorff, Graham, Bergeland, Cohen, and LaCrosse. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Kragness said there is a correction to the June 9 minutes. It should read TJ Max $25 gift certificates. There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Graham to approve the minutes with this correction. Motion carried. BARN DANCE:C Kragness will need 10 dozen hot dogs and buns and 3 cases of regular chips. LaCrosse asked if the candy could be picked up at the community center by next Wednesday. Kragness will pick it up. CRAFT FAIR: Bergeland said there are 49 crafters and 4 food vendors. The • committee is taking out posters and flyers. LaCrosse said we have permission from Mr. Splinter to put up the 4 small signs on the boulevard for 3 days. LaCrosse asked Bergeland to coordinate with Nerburn putting up and taking down. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Kragness said she talked to Brookdale and they will have 60 chairs for the band. Cohen passed out the agenda for the program. AMBASSADORS: LaCrosse said we have received the following contributions since last week: AA Battery, $50; Norwest, $500; First Bank Robbinsdale, $100; Pilgrim, $50; Publicorp, $200; Holmes $ Graven; Marquette Bank Brookdale, $1,000. JUNIOR ROYALTY: Graham said that volunteers spent 10 hours on saturday working on the Lions float and it is ready. Bridgeman's will bill EBD but would like the check right away. A personality from Radio Ahs and the Mayor will be at the coronation. Kragness asked Graham if they could use a cash drawer with cash. Graham said $50 in ones. PARADE: Risley told Kragness she was in the parade and to invite her grandchildren to ride with her. PICNIC/GAMES: Dorff said he received a nice letter from Red Lobster turning us • down. They said they would consider it for the future if there is more notice. Dorff said he received 4 fishing rods for the fishing contest. Neilson said 10 people from Rotary signed-up to work. PUBLICITY: LaCrosse said everything is done except placing a classified ad for • the craft fair in Sunday's paper. TALENT CONTEST: Neilson said it will be moved indoors this week. He also said that based on the number of last minute registrations, Kragness and him decided to go with the contest. There is almost $1,000 taken in entry fees and expenses will run approximately $1,350. The judges are lined up. There is not the variety this year, but it will be a good show. OLD BUSINESS: LaCrosse said Sharon Knutson will be on vacation next week and no food vendor will be able to get a license. LaCrosse said her department will do the certificates of appreciation. We would need the names by friday of this week. The Olive Garden will provide ice cream and balloons at the games/picnic. NEW BUSINESS: Kragness asked for approval to pay the "following bills: Norcostco $ 26.85 Commodore Hats Radio Ahs 150.00 Dan Geiger, MC Proex 90.00 - Slides and film processing Proex 41.54 Reprints for buttons Earle Brown Bowl 60.00 Bowling junior royalty Buttons, Etc 80.25 Buttons • Hammonds Awards 94.25 Gifts Paper Warehouse 35.00 Junior Royalty City of Brooklyn Center 92.21 Postage There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Neilson to pay those bills pending invoices. Motion carried. Kragness asked for approval to pay C & K Screen Printing for $535 for volunteer t-shirts and $246 for parade t-shirts. There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Ditty to pay this bill. Motion carried. Kragness asked for approval to pay the following bills for the talent contest: Winner checks totally $900 - names to be filled in with winner names 3 judges at $50 = $150 4 judges at $25 = 100 Neilson & Ewald 175 for copies, etc. There was a motion by Dorff, seconded by Roen to approve these.
