Adjournment r Earle Brown Days Brooklyn Center Minnesota 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway 55430 (612) 561-5440 Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes January 14, 1992 PRESENT: Nerburn, Bergeland, Roen, Neilson, and LaCrosse The meeting was called to order at 7 : 45 a.m. Neilson suggested Jerry Low as a potential board member. LaCrosse prepared a preliminary schedule of events. The picnic and talent contest still need to be scheduled. Neilson will contact Brookdale for available dates for the talent contest. Bergeland said we need letterhead and envelopes. There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Nerburn to purchase 1, 000 sheets of letterhead and 1, 000 envelopes from American Speedy Print for a total of $219 . 10. Motion carried. Neilson suggested Jack Flatley of City County Credit Union as a potential board member. BILL PAYMENT: There was a motion by Roen, seconded by Neilson to pay the following bill: City of Brooklyn Center $17 . 69 Postage TREASURERS REPORT: None COMMITTEE BUDGETS: Committee Revenue Expenses Parade $7, 500 $7 , 500 Barn Dance 750 2 , 000 Junior Royalty 500 1, 854 Car Show 1, 100 870 Publicity 2 , 000 2 , 000 Craft Fair 2 , 025 1, 023 Insurance -- 1, 113 Talent Contest not available not available Picnic not available not available • Preliminary Total $13 , 875 $16, 360 CAR SHOW: Nerburn will propose to the club an indoor/outdoor show. The club charges $5 per non-member to show a car. Earle Brown Days will make the profit from spectator admissions. The club also prints 7, 500 promotional flyers . Bergeland would like to see the committee run a concession stand indoors. LaCrosse said she would like to invite Sharon Knutson to the next meeting to discuss the license procedure for food vendors. CRAFT FAIR: Bergeland said she picked up the information from Abe. She expects to get information out to crafters in January. Cohen arrived at 8 : 30 a.m. TALENT CONTEST: Neilson said he would like to raise the entry fee. Roen made a motion, seconded by Nerburn to increase the talent contest entry fee to $20 for an individual act, $25 for two people and $30 for three or more. Motion carried. AMBASSADORS: Cohen said he will use the same fundraising effort as last year. Bergeland will update mailing list, put it on a disk and give to LaCrosse. Neilson said he would be willing to help on this committee. PICNIC: Cohen said Dorff would like to see Rotary run it with volunteers. Nerburn expressed concern that the picnic may conflict with people coming to the car show. LaCrosse said it could be run Saturday afternoon in conjunction with kid ' s fishing contest. Bergeland said Saturday would be better for junior royalty children. Cohen suggested late Sunday afternoon. Cohen will propose this event to Rotary and report their response at the February meeting. A decision about the picnic was tabled until the February meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Roen to approve the minutes of November 12 , 1991. Motion carried.
