ANTIQUE SHOW: Antique Show coordinator still owes Earle Brown Days
$500. Bergeland will try to get it. Jacobson would like to see
a contract developed that we can use to safeguard this from
happening again.
Neilson said he thinks the problem is visibility.

decision about the Antique show for 191 to the next meeting.
Motion carried.
CAR SHOW: It came close to breaking even. Cohen made a motion to
continue the car show for 191 with budget issues to be discussed
with Nerburn. Seconded by Neilson. Motion carried.
PARADE: Risley will chair parade in 191. He would like to

Cohen had to leave at 8 : 30 a.m. but wanted to make taese comments.
He would like to get a meeting together to figure out where we can •
get the money to pay the rest of 190 bills. He said the whole
community benefits, we have a population that is growing older and
its tough to get volunteers. The community has come to expect the
free events. We don't have main street merchants like some other
communities. Earle Brown Days represents a great image for
Brooklyn Center and the City has a commitment to it.
CARNIVAL: Presale tickets were $1, 014 . The expense outweighed
the income. They may consider coming back if we change locations
such as to the Highland property. Roen made a motion to table the
carnival discussion to the next meeting. Seconded by Neilson.
Motion carried.
CRAFT SHOW: Benson handed out a report. The show' s profit was
$2 , 399 . 69 less advertising expenses. There were many suggestions
from exhibitors. Benson will return as chair in 191 only if there
are some changes, such as better signs.
There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Roen to continue the
craft show.
JUNIOR ROYALTY: Bergeland would like to see an admission fee
charged to offset some costs and said Cohen would like to go back
to having businesses sponsor some events. There was a motion by
Jacobson, seconded by Neilson to continue for 191. •
LaCrosse reported Allen Thielen, one of the parents of the past
Junior royalty, is interested in starting a new committee. The
Committee would be called past junior royalty and there would be
no expense to Earle Brown Days. The board of directors said yes.
PUBLICITY: Bergeland said this committee needs its own chair.
LaCrosse said that Splinter and Mavis saw this as her role and the
problem is really lack of funds. There was a motion by Neilson,
seconded by Benson to get a publicity chair. Motion carried.
Bergeland said approximately $3 ,700 was spent on advertising.
NEW BUSINESS: No meeting in August. Next meeting September 17,
7 : 30 a.m. City Hall Council Chambers.
