Meeting Minutes
June 11, 1990
City Hall
THOSE PRESENT: Nerburn, Roen, Dorff, Harris, Bergeland, Graham,
Benson, Nyquist, Cummings, and LaCrosse.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion made by Harris, seconded
by Graham to approve the minutes of June 4 . Motion passed.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Balance of $4 , 087 . 96 was reported by Cummings
which does not include income from auction. Nerburn needs 100 ones
for car show admission. Also two cash boxes with 100 ones each to
sell carnival tickets.
There was a motion by Nerburn, seconded by Harris to approve the
following bills:
$ 200 Balance for Teddy Bear Band
• $1, 030 Insurance
$ 150 KANO Radio
Motion passed.
TALENT CONTEST: Begins Thursday. Carnival tickets will be on sale
at Brookdale. Nerburn will bring his car over to Brookdale on
Thursday.
CAR SHOW: Nerburn needs table, stage and PA system. Iten donated
a people' s choice trophy. Used about 10, 000 flyers. Junior
royalty and Mann will be selling carnival tickets.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Carnival tickets will be sold.
PARADE: Nyquist will be grand marshal .
TURTLE RACES: Will be at Heritage Center.
CRAFT SHOW: Bergeland and Benson will mark off spaces either
Friday night or Saturday morning.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, June 25, 7 : 30 a.m. City Council Chambers.

Meeting Minutes
June 18 , 1990
City Hall
THOSE PRESENT: Graham, Nerburn, Risley, Benson, Jacobsen, Kaehler,
Neilson, Dorff, Roen, Harris, Cohen and LaCrosse.
FINANCIAL REPORT: None
CARNIVAL: Committee members were asked to turn in money and extra
tickets to LaCrosse no later than Wednesday, June 20.
PARADE: Committee should look at revising map. There were many
complaints that it was hard to read.

ANTIQUE SHOW: Mr. Chips is a big raw and a woman will be

available to rate antiques.
CRAFT SHOW: 41 craftors and 6 food vendors to date.
• JUNIOR ROYALTY: The second judging for finalists is June 18 .
TALENT SHOW: Neilson reported there were 62 entries - 23 junior,
23 teen and 16 adult. They cam from all over Minnesota and
Wisconsin. There were nine finalists in each category.
Neilson needs checks for June 18 . Request is as follows:

CAR SHOW: Had 113 entries in comparison to 60 the last time.
Nerburn took in $480 admission, with a loss of $220 for the car
show.
PUBLICITY: Northwest News did not come through with a tabloid.
Committee felt they should not have promised to do it.
There were many complaints about the Post's coverage of Earle Brown
• Days.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Bob The Beachcomber performs at 7 p.m. with the
actual ceremony at 7 : 45 p.m. The ice cream social and band concert
begin at 8 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS : Graham asked for board approval for Neilson' s bills
plus the following:
$ 91. 09 - Abe Benson, stamps, copying, refund to one craftor
13 . 75 - Henry Dorff - Street Dance signs
1500 . 00 - Shriner units - Parade
2100 . 00 - Band prizes - Parade
250 . 00 - Dick Risley - Band judges
1701. 48 - Talent Contest checks
700 . 00 - Street Dance Band
100 . 00 - Turtle Races
There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Neilson to pay these
bills . Motion passed.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, July 16, 7 : 30 a.m. , City Hall Council
Chambers.
