APPROVAL OF MINUTES : The minutes from March 5, 1990 were approved. FINANCIAL REPORT: None CARNIVAL: Lacrosse contacted them about getting us advance tickets and posters. They were also notified about the WLOL Boom box and the Teddy Bear Band scheduled on Saturday at the carnival site. PARADE: The only question the committee has is regarding concessions. Names were suggested for a commentator for the radio broadcast. Risley will get someone. STREET DANCE: Atrium will sell beer. Jacobsen would like to have • more concession stands. CONCESSIONS: Bergeland, Risley, Jacobsen, and Benson talked to Splinter about license fees. They are concerned about the cost of licenses, $30 for first day, $15 for each additional day. Splinter will look at what can be done. There are three options: a flat fee for the whole festival, Earle Brown Days can get licenses, or charge them the way it' s set up now. ANTIQUE SHOW: LaCrosse said we should get a certificate of insurance from the antique show contractor naming the City and Earle Brown Days as additional insured. CRAFT SHOW: Benson had questions about electricity, balloons, signs, and parking in the City lot overnight. She has 35 confirmed exhibitors to date. JUNIOR ROYALTY: Applications will go out at the end of this week. Graham would like to have a pool party and picnic for candidates. She would like to have a group picture put on a button. Bergeland said O.K. as long as she didn't go over budget. The new junior royalty will appear at Sunday In Central Park. TALENT SHOW: Neilson will send out applications from a computerized mailing list from the state fair and winter carnival . He' s still working on a name. He was wondering if Earle Brown Days is had to carry insurance on the talent show since he had $1 million liability insurance. LaCrosse said she will check with Holmlund. PUBLICITY: Committee met and developed a coordinated publicity plan. It was suggested we get a bid for the tabloid from North West News. NEW BUSINESS: There were three bills to be paid. For junior royalty, group pictures and t-shirts $82 . 22 ; Brooklyn Printing for envelopes $203 ; City of Brooklyn Center, postage $115. 90 . There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Benson to pay these bills. Motion passed. LaCrosse reported the proposals from BFI and Waste Management. There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Graham to award the business for Earle Brown Days to BFI . Motion passed. NEXT MEETING: Monday, May 7 , 7 : 30 am. City Hall Council Chambers. Adjourn.
