HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991 11-12 EBDM i s i Earle Brown Days Brooklyn Center Minnesota 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway 55430 (612) 561-5440 Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes November 12 , 1991 PRESENT: Kragness, Benson, Dorff, Nyquist, Cummings, Bergeland, Roen, and LaCrosse. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes cf September 10, 1991 were approved. TREASURER'S REPORT: Cummings reported a balance of $5, 495 . 97 as of November 12 , 1991. BUDGET REPORTS: Kragness asked for budget proposals. She hopes to put them together and figure out how much is needed for the festival . • Kragness said it seemed like similar things were purchased by different committees. She suggests making a list from all committees and doing centralized billing. Cummings suggested setting up charge accounts for as many places as possible. LaCrosse suggested New Market. Bergeland suggested Bizmart. Cummings said she would like g to see better control of incomin g and outgoing money. Dorff suggested a receipt system. The receipt books would then be turned in to Cummings. There was a motion by Cummings, seconded by Benson to authorize the treasurer to set up accounts at Jerry' s New Market, not to exceed $100 and Bizmart, not to exceed $150 . Motion carried. Kragness is going to call the Mayor regarding assistance for EBD per September meeting minutes. BOARD MEMBER TERMS: Kragness asked Dorff and Nyquist if they would be interested in extending their board terms for three years. Dorff said yes with the understanding he will be gone until April . Nyquist said yes but also added we need new blood. Kragness asked for ideas for getting new people on the committee. LaCrosse . reminded her of her suggestion to get the Chamber more involved. Nyquist said the main reason people don't volunteer is because they're not asked. CRAFT FAIR: Benson said she asked Pollock to co-chair the committee. Bergeland said she would co-chair. Benson said she doesn't have time to get the notices out in February because of tax season. Benson added she would be available to help. TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY: Kragness asked if anyone had any ideas for the ten year anniversary of EBD. It was again suggested that the committee needs new blood. Benson said she would like the job of contacting the high schools for volunteers. She thinks this will be an excellent opportunity for them to get involved in the community. Dorff suggested we have a picnic and games in the park on Sunday afternoon. He said he would put it together. Benson said this might be an excellent event the high school students could do. MEETING DATES: Future EBD meetings are scheduled at 7 : 30 a.m. at r,ity Hall on the following dates: January 14 February 11 March 10 April 14 May 12 May 26 • June 2 June 9 June 16 June 23 The meeting was adjourned.
