Meeting Minutes
September 10, 1991
PRESENT: Roen, Pollock, Nyquist, Bergeland, Kragness, Cohen and
LaCrosse.
Mayor Paulson stopped in to thank the Earle Brown Days committee
for their past hard work and their future hard work. He said to let
him know if there is anything the Council can do to help. He asked
if there was a way to get people from outside the community to be
aware of the events? Cohen said the parade is the key to getting
outside interest. He said he had heard many good comments about
the parade from St. Paul area residents when he worked for
Durenberger.
Mayor Paulson left to attend another meeting.
• Bergeland called the meeting to order. She complimented the
committee on the tremendous job they did. The events were well
received. Moving the dates made it possible to run the car show
during Earle Brown Days. For the first time, the car show showed
a profit.
Cohen thanked the chair for her hard work.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Bergeland passed out a report prepared. by
Cummings. Balance as of 9/10/91 $5, 129 . 75. Added to this will be
$200 received from a car dealer $473 received from Post News and
$50 received from Maxfield Research Group.
Junior Royalty -- final reports were not available. This will be
reported at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS : Bergeland said the chair search sub-committee met.
They have selected Myrna Kragness and she has accepted. There was
a motion by Cohen, seconded by Pollock, to appoint Myrna Kragness
to a two year term to the board of directors to expire 12/31/93 .
Motion carried.
There was a motion by Nyquist, seconded by Roen to show their
appreciation and accept Myrna Kragness as the chairperson of the
1992 Earle Brown Days. Motion Carried.
There was a motion by Cohen seconded by Roen to show their
appreciation and thanks to the past chair. Motion carried.
Bergeland asked Pollock if she would be interested in serving a one
year term. She said yes. There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by
Nyquist to appoint Sarah Pollock to a one year term to the board of
directors to expire 12/31/92 . Motion carried.
Bergeland reported that Julie Vreeland has accepted a position in
Burnsville and will resign from the board. She asked if we wanted
to change our meeting day. Cohen said there will always be some
conflicts. The committee decided to leave meetings on the second
Tuesday of the month.
Bergeland proposed a November meeting to get the craft fair going
earlier, then start regular meetings in January.
Cohen made a motion, seconded by Nyquist, to set forth a policy
establishing a petty cash fund of $500. The Earle Brown Days
chairperson will be responsible for g
dis ersin funds to committee
dispersing chairs. Petty cash will be available in $25 increments provided
receipts are supplied. No committee

petty cash over the course of the festival year. This action
encourages invoices on the part of our vendors and makes for more
accurate reporting of event expenses. Motion carried.
Bergeland asked for approval for the following bill :

There was a motion by Kragness, seconded by Pollock to approve •
