included on these budget sheets.
• Cohen requested from Bergeland an informational sheet for each
event needing a sponsor. His committee will be ready to go the end
of March. He also said it ' s time to let the community and
businesses know we need their support.
Bergeland said it is the preference of the board to run all money
through the EBD checking account instead of personal checks.
Cohen said everyone should take a good look at what they need for
their budget so they don't have to come back later for more money.
Bergeland said to make sure everyone runs postage through Sue at
the City.
PARADE: Letters to bands have been sent out. The other letters
will go out in the next week. The Grand Marshal will probably be
Pat Enninga who is a co-founder of SOCM. Risley said there may
also be a marching unit from the same organization.
CRAFT FAIR: Hours to be Fri. noon to 8 p.m. and Sat.
10 a.m. -8 p.m.
Bergland asked if EBD should join the Minnesota Festivals and
Events Association. There was some question as to the benefit and
if they sell mailing lists. Bergeland will check it out.
•
CAR SHOW: The MSMA club has been printing and passing out flyers
at the shows. The car dealers have been named as sponsors on the
flyer with the hope they will do this. 40

JUNIOR ROYALTY: Bergeland reported for Graham. Graham is ready to
begin. She wants to have information in the schools by April 1.
She wants to charge an application fee of $10. There are many
activities planned for the kids.
TALENT SHOW: Neilson met with the new staff at Brookdale. The
1991 dates are June 20, 21, 22 (preliminaries) , June 24 (finals) .
EBD may have to supply a volunteer to run the sound system and
cassette player because Brookdale doesn't have anyone to do it
anymore.
Information and applications will be mailed out around May 1.
STREET DANCE: Neilson suggested three groups that essentially
appeal to the 21-35 year old but also play a variety of other music
as well. He said we can get a good group for around $1, 500 .
Bergland said this committee needs a chairperson.
Neilson will put 2-3 groups on a temporary hold and will then try
to get a small committee to go listen to them. •
