• ASSIGNMENT OF CHAIR POSITIONS:
a) Antique Show - Special events committee
b) Craft Show - Special events committee
C) Flea Market - Special events committee
d) Turtle Races - Harris. Bergeland said they only charge
$100 for transportation. They don't give out prizes.
However, it could be organized any way we want.
e) Miss Brooklyn Center - no chair yet. Graham will get
some information, including costs, by the next meeting.
f) Talent Show - Neilson
g) Carnival - Bergeland & LaCrosse. Graffunder will assist
with contract. We cannot use BCHS. May be able to use
the property just north of Earle Brown Towers.
h) Parade - no chair yet. Dorff asked Splinter if the City
would have someone who could do it. Splinter said the
problem with that is it becomes a City event rather than
a community event. Splinter will think about it and
report to the committee at the next meeting. LaCrosse
will send a notice requesting a parade chairperson to the
Post and the City newsletter.
i) Car Show - Nerburn
j ) Street Dance - Jacobsen
k) Junior Royalty - Graham
1) Ambassadors - Cohen, with assistance from Dorff. Some
. of the junior royalty parents may be interested in
helping.

OLD BUSINESS:
a) Hide-A-Key - It was decided to delete the hide-a-key
because of the lack o 0
f communication between the Earle
Brown Days committee and the Historical Society.
They could still have it but it shouldn't be advertised
as an EBD event.
b) Celebrate Minnesota 1990 - LaCrosse asked how far we
wanted to get involved with this. There were no
suggestions.
Alford said Ernie McArther might be interested in
planning a pageant or play with an historical theme.
NEW BUSINESS:
•
a) Teen Activity - Neilson said contests work. Could maybe
charge, give prizes. Volleyball is also successful.
b) Vice-chair - It' s a g ood idea to have someone work with
Ber e
g land for this year and take over as chair for 1991.
C) Horseshoe Tournament
d) Contest for the greatest fishing story--Harris.
Bergeland asked her to put some ideas together and bring
to next meeting.
