Meeting was called to order at 7:40 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Dorff, seconded by Bergeland to approve the minutes of May 25, 1993. Motion carried. PICNIC/GAMES: Dorff reported he has received a good reception from the business community. He has received donations from all of last year's contributors as well as many new ones. Risley arrived at 7:43 a.m. • Dorff said the Olive Garden will host and donate a dinner on June 22 for the Junior Royalty, 14 children and 5 adults. He said they will have everything ready. He said he has had some response for Rotary workers and would like to have the list passed around again. Cohen arrived at 7:45 a.m. ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR: Bergeland said she has 58 crafters and 5 food vendors, making this the biggest show so far. She has room for two more on her current map. The person who sold the mini donuts last year called Bergeland. He did not receive an application for this year's show. She said we must check the mailing list. The confirmations went out and she has received minor telephone calls. At the end of the week the information will be turned over to LaCrosse. JUNIOR ROYALTY: Graham said the float is about half built. She said Builder's Square donated lumber and hardware. LaCrosse suggested the design for logo be approved by Board before going ahead. Graham said she will have a couple of designs drawn up. PARADE: Risley said it's ready to go. He needs to get signs painted. He would like to have the resident letters done this week so the boy scouts can deliver them this weekend. Roen will be the Grand Marshal. He is the only original Lions Club member. Risley said • he will only need the Brooklyn Center High School field. He will not need the school. The judges stand will remain in the same area as last year. AMBASSADORS: To date there has been $3,125 in contributions. Cohen said last year it was about 7,500. LaCrosse said last year's contributors as well as this year's • contributors to date will be listed in the tabloids. Cohen said he will get together with Dorff this week. APPROVAL OF BILLS: The News Arts & Crafts Ad $ 139.50 Norcostco Commodore Hats-Junior Royalty 28.59 Menards Carpet, Tarp-Float 205.67 BHK&R Extension of Insurance-Junior Royalty 50.00 There was a motion by Dorff, seconded by Risley to approve payment of these bills. Motion carried. PUBLICITY: LaCrosse said she met with the person from Cable. We will carry through with the clown logo and celebrate the fun. There will not be any specific dates attached to any activities. They will highlight the fun things and the telephone number. Bergeland asked if anyone would be taking pictures this year. She suggested contacting Christopher J. LaCrosse said the Post tabloid is done. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Kragness said she thought someone would be here from Brookdale. Risley suggested having the band play a song or two to draw people to the area. LaCrosse said she thought they could do that. • HALL OF FAME: Kragness asked who was in charge of this. LaCrosse said Jane Hallberg and Ernee McArthur. She said they have it all planned. The information for this event will be in the tabloids. LaCrosse said they plan to induct new members every other year and suggested to them they have a representative attend some meetings. Cohen asked if there would be the framed certificate of appreciation done for the contributors. NEW BUSINESS: Kragness asked if the committee could meet Thursday, June 10 and Thursday, June 17 instead of tuesday dates. The committee said yes.
