Meeting Minutes
May 11, 1993
PRESENT: Pollock, Dorff,Bergeland, Kragness, Neilson, Roen, Graham and LaCrosse.
Meeting was called to order at 7:45 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: There was a motion by Neilson, seconded by Roen to
approve the minutes of April 13, 1993. Motion carried.
PICNIC/GAMES: Dorff will continue with what they had last year with one exception,
the two person, three legged sack races. They will add something for all boys and girls.
The children wanted to do the water balloon toss. Kragness suggested a parent/child water
balloon toss. Dorff said he was looking at Rotary again as a sponsor.
• ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR: Bergeland reported she has 42 crafters and 5 food
vendors, 15 ahead of the same time last year, She said the Durands are interested in serving
on the board next year and are helping with craft fair. However, she feels someone that has
been through the show before should handle questions and assign additional booth spaces in
her absence. LaCrosse will do this.
TALENT CONTEST: Neilson said we have the St. Paul Winter Carnival list from two
years ago. The applications have gone out to people on the EBD mailing list and to
newspapers. The judges are pretty much lined up.
JUNIOR ROYALTY: Graham said there are 16 candidates, 5 boys so far. She has a
bill for paper products to be used at orientation and coronation. She has a trailer that could
be made into a float.
Cohen arrived at 7:58 a.m.
PUBLICITY: LaCrosse asked for discussion about the publicity proposal. There was
a motion by Bergeland, seconded by Pollock to approve the publicity budget and to go ahead
with ads. Motion carried.
AMBASSADORS: Cohen said the letters are oin out. He said Northwest News

had a proposal. Cohen said we have some money coming in. Dorff and Nerburn solicit
other businesses and there is no overlap. He said we don't want to share in what we would
get anyway. Cohen would like to work with the executive committee and NorthWest News. •
There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Bergeland to authorize the chair and the
Ambassador group to resolve the NorthWest News request.
BARN DANCE: Kragness said everything is set. She needs band pictures for posters.
Neilson said he gave them to LaCrosse. LaCrosse said she thought they were for the
newspapers.
PAYMENT OF BILLS:
Littin Paper Co. Paper supplies - Junior Royalty $ 129.41
City of Brooklyn Center Postage 114.08
BHK&R Liability Insurance 1,287.50
There was a motion by Cohen, seconded by Roen to approve payment of these bills. Motion
carried.

NEW BUSINESS: None
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
