HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-118 CCR Member Dan Ryan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-118 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LETTER OF ENGAGEMENT WITH A PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRM FOR PROFESSIONAL AUDIT SERVICES WHEREAS, the City Council Code of Policies Section 2.80 requires that the City solicit proposals for audit of its financial statements no less frequently than every six years; and WHEREAS, proposals were solicited in June 2014 through a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Professional Audit Services approved by the City Council on June 10, 2013; and WHEREAS, the City received seven proposals from professional firms providing such services; and WHEREAS, a Committee appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council in accordance with the Code of Policies Section 2.80 has reviewed the proposals, interviewed the top scoring firms, and recommended award of the engagement for auditing services to Malloy,Montage, Karnowski,Radosevich& Co.,P.A.; and WHEREAS the City Manager recommends to the City Council the award of the engagement for auditing services to Malloy,Montague,Karnowski,Radosevich& Co.,P.A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the firm of Malloy, Montague, Karnowski, Radosevich & Co. P.A. be awarded an engagement for performing the annual audit of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Statement contents in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing practices and that the City Manager is hereby authorized and requested to negotiate a Letter of Engagement for those audit services. Aia City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Lin Myszkowski and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof. Tim Willson, Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski, and Dan Ryan; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
